Front end loader - frozen lock pin

After getting the roll pin kit, I was able to work the locking pin back and forth, greased the hell out of it, and now it's freed up. I'll start greasing those pins when I do all the zerks. May try to tap a zerk if I get brave enough. Thanks again for all the advice!

Front end loader - frozen lock pin

No issue moving the bucket around. No zerks at this particular point. An admission... never heard of roll pins but have a kit coming tomorrow. I will try to tap it out, clean it the large pin, and grease the holy hell out of it. Lesson learned.

Front end loader - frozen lock pin

Hi all, I have a probably rediculous issue. I was swapping my bucket for forks the other day and found one of the locking pins hopelessly frozen. It's always given me a little grief but I've had the bucket on for a few years so it's had time to freeze. I tried PLENTY of penetrating oil...

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

Y'all, Thanks for the replies on this. I went out and took a very close look at the sight glass and noticed that there is a very light golden solution that was just barely moving around. It is what everyone already knew - I overfilled it. I am considering draining *some* fluid to get back in...

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

What is the difference between the cheap stuff - traveller premium universal - and the not cheap stuff? Also, what would be the specs to look for?

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

Floating ball would awesome, but no, I dont have that. It seems like this dye is eother hard to come by or costs a fortune for 10 gallons worth of fluid. Maybe I'll drive around terrain slowly and have someone look at the sight glass at various positions. Never had an issue seeing fluid level...

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

That's a great idea. Let me locate some dye and see if I can get something a bit more definitive. Thanks!

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

Hi all, I left everything alone for the night, figured I'd let it settle. I popped the fill cap this afternoon and either more fluid drained or the level went down very slightly- fluid is about a half inch below the top of the fill pipe. Sight glass remains empty. I am stuck and am concerned...

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

Ericm979, I see what you are saying but when i was on an incline (front up, back down), i could see the oil level appeared low. On level ground I would have expected to see it around 1/3 to 1/2 at most. -pockman

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

For fun I went out and moved all the levers around and that relaxed everything. Unscrewed the hyd cap and it immediately started leaking out. Nothing showing in sight glass. I cannot imagine this is overfilled...?

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

Good grief. I had the outriggers on the backhoe up and the backhoe bucket curled. Seems so obvious. I assume i should have lowered everything, shut off the tractor and played the levers to get everything to relax. Similar to prepping to disconnect backhoe. Is there any salvaging the fluid if i...

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

Thanks all. Yes, I waited a few minutes before adding fluid. Do I need to replace the filter as well (since it'll hold some fluid)? That seems crazy, can anyone think of a rationale for this? Seems like topping off fluids should a no brainer.

Branson 3520h - Hydraulic level confusion

Hi all, I have a Branson 3520 hydrostat with about 100 hours. It sat a couple of seasons so I am going through checking, topping, etc. I noticed the hydraulic/tranny fluid in the rear sight glass was low (below the 1/3 mark) while parked on an incline. After I moved the tractor to level...

    Branson 3520h Coolant Change

All, Thank you for all of the responses and advice. I flushed a few times with distilled, grabbed GREEN antifreeze and filled the radiator with concentrate, figuring it would give at least a 50/50 to avoid winter freeze issues. I was able to move on from this and hit more issues as is always...

    Branson 3520h Coolant Change

Thanks again. I bought pink antifreeze (peak fleet charge sca). Now that I can't drain all coolant, is there any issue mixing pink with "some" amount of green? It sounds like it may be ok but am having a hard time finding something to give me confidence filling up. I thought the precharged...
