The side with the case drain hose failed. The drain is at the bottom side of the case. The machine was parked. I fired it up and was at low rpm. Moved it about 5 feet and it went bang. I never expected it and there was no sign of any problem. It probably had 25 hours on the pump. Fresh filters...
One thing I just noticed was on the reservoir if I pick the boom up all the way it draws a vacuum on the reservoir. It’s only a slight vacuum as is barely moves it off the zero mark. If I’m using most other functions it seems to slightly pressure the tank. Is this normal?
It’s has two sets of rotating groups and a gear pump. It shares a common supply which is about 2 inches in diameter. The cases themselves have an Allen plug on each. One is at 12 o’clock and one at 6 o’clock. The 6 o’clock one has the hose connected to it that acts like a case drain back to the...
I’m just trying to figure out if there is anything I can do to minimize the chance of it happening again. Both sides of the pump share the same case drain. The other side looked perfect. Is it possible the gear pump on the end leaked some pressure into the main pump? All the seals were new.
When adjusting the regulator the pump shop said to adjust them so the rpms drop 200rpm before it hits the relief setting. These pumps can run up around 4000 psi but I have everything set to 3000.
I could replumb the case drain into the tank. I guess the only thing it will do it cool off the...
Hi guys it’s been a while. I rebuilt the pump with new parts. It fired up and functions as it should. Before I get too far into using it I wanted to check a few things to follow up with some suggestions.
1) a couple posted that high case pressure caused a piston head pop off and that was the...
I have a early 90s grey market mini excavator. It has an obsolete load sensing variable displacement axial piston pump. The pump has been rebuilt 3 times and failed 3 times. It was rebuilt by true pump builders and dyno tested. Parts are a nightmare to fine. The bottom line is I am done with the...
Hi Guys i'm trying to find a replacement suction filter for my grey market mini Ex. This is the one that sits in the tank. I'm having a hard time figuring out what size pipe filter to get. It is a tapered pipe thread. On the filter side the first thread shows 1.534 and the deepest thread into...
Hey Guys, I know it might be in the wrong section but most of you guys are creative. I have a hotwater pressure washer. The coil sprung a leak and I welded it back up again. The problem I have is there is this cardboard like material I need to replace. Its about 3/16 to 1/4 thick. Its rigid. It...
I just bought my first Kubota Excavator. Older one. KX121-2 Is there any online dealers that discount parts? I bought some stuff from Messicks and I have no complaints on the supply and service. However, Paying MSRP, Tax (I am in CT) and Shipping its cheaper to just order it from local...
On both of my mini excavators on the pressure side 90 degree fittings there is a allen plug. On my cheap micrometer it shows the outside diameter of the plug threads is .375 The 1/4-28 thread seems to match the pitch of the plug but not the diameter. 1/8 pipe seems too big. I am trying to...
I had a pump failure on my mini excavator after about 30 hours of a thumb install.. It may have nothing to do with it but I want to pick a few brains. I have a spare circuit on my spool block that can my plumbed for a hammer or whatever. I only planned on using it for a thumb. I plumbed it...
