    Maybe someone can advise me

I have about 40 acres in nowhere Oklahoma. The county road is little more than a cow trail, and that's not much of an exageration. The plan is (was) to move there in three years. Here's my dilemia, a couple of guys have bought the place directly across the dirt road from me, and have opened a...

    Ag tires

Howdy all: If any of you are in need of lug tires, consider Tucker tire company in Dyersburg, TN. I ordered a set of 23/8.50x12, 4 ply tires from them. The lugs on the tires are HUGE, and measure a full inch tall. I got the pair of tires with tubes for $90.00, and that included shipping. I'm...

The endless debate - Husky or Stihl?? Why??

I'm too poor not to buy good equipment the first time around, so I'm gonna buy one premium chainsaw. I've narrowed it down to a Husky 55 rancher, or Stihl 260. The Stihl runs about $100 more than the Husky. Both appear to be excellent saws. Remember I'm only buying a chainsaw once in my...

    I have repented

Bought a pristine '68 IH Cub Cadet 125, which has a hydrostatic transmission. Never cared much for a hydro before, and said so on numerous occasions in the past, but oh my, I love it now. It's pure joy to use. Happy and safe tractoring.

Poured concrete floor alternative in shop

My wife and I were getting my dad's Christmas present this weekend at one of those concrete figure places. Part of their display was in a 30' x 40' shop/garage, and instead of a concrete pad, they had used pavers (interlocking concrete blocks). It looked like a pretty neat idea. The owner said...

    Super Steer

I know absolutely ZERO about New Holland's super steer. How does it work, by that I mean the mechanism? Is there a substantial pivot pin? Does the tractor become 'tippy' when the front axle geometry changes? I remember having a wagon as a kid, where the front axle pivoted, not a steering axle...

FEL, can you live without one?

I bought an older tractor w/o a FEL on it, to mostly brush hog about 10-12 acres. Now I'm wondering if I should have bought a tractor that can accomadate a front end loader? My tractor is a MF35, without power steering, so adding an after market FEL has little appeal to me. I know this question...

    Pole barn floor

I looked back through some earlier posts regarding pouring a concrete floor in an existing pole barn, but still have some questions. I'll be adding the floor to a new build pole barn in Southeast Oklahoma, and know zilch about doing it the right way. I believe I read that a sand cushion 3-4-5...

    Use it, Don't abuse it.

Use it, Don\'t abuse it. There seems to be a recurring theme of fear, and dread echoed on many of these posts. "If I use my tractor to do 'XYZ' will I hurt it?" "I pulled a trailer/boat/elephant up a hill, did I damage my hydrostatic transmission?" It always makes me wonder what they bought a...
