    Thanks for the advice chaps, yes I'm in hot and sunny New Zealand currently 27-28'C here 1 jan new years day. At idling speed 1100rpm when splitting wood the temp gauge shows the correct working temp. Tho I have heeded your advice and am running it at 1500rpm
