Yes its a twin spindle rotary cutter. The vertical shaft is held in place with two castle nuts. The bottom castle nut holds the stump jumper and blades on and has an incredible amount of torque on it. I think my manual calls for around 700ftlbs or so. The top one I'm not so sure. I...
So long story short I pulled a bone head move and I parked my MX10 on a block 3 years ago and it put uneven pressure on the stumped jumper over the winter and caused the seal to fail. I decided to replace all the bearings on the bottom spindle when I replaced the seal. Anyways the problem is...
I cheated and started with a 10' plow.
It works pretty well but I need to modify it to float and follow the ground a little bit. It is a ridgid mount currently and I pick up quick a bit of dirt and grass with it. I have only used it up to about 8" so far with no issues.
If you don't follow a standard for installing pipe you should. Here is a page from PennDOT Road Construction Standards

"SPD" is Standard Proctor Density for those of you who don't know.
A fifth wheel is just what it says. A smaller version of a semi tractor connector. A gooseneck is a general term for a type of trailer but is generally regarded to mean a 2 5/16" ball in the bed of a truck that a socket on the trailer drops onto. The fifth wheel has a king pin that slides...

So I just had a pair of track frames and rock guards from a 550 John Deere dozer sand blasted and I'm looking for some suggestions for prep and paint. I have had good luck with the loctite brand rust converter but I really don't think I'm going to need it, although i'm picking the parts up...
This might help. Talons on the rears, tightened patter v-bar duo grip on the front. I don't care for the duo-grips in factory spacing or after I tightened the pattern.
I suggest everybody reviews this chart before they get on their high horses.
Ovrszd, I guess I should clarify my earlier post. I was mowing up and down the slopes and not across. They are far to steep to try and mow across but I don't have any problems in 4wd going up and down other Than...
Thanks for the replies all. I just don't know if the brush ax would work on the briars. It seems like a faster swing works well on them especially when you can't reach the base for a solid hit. The brush axes don't seem they would work well for making a trail in my mind? I only need wide...
Gents,
I'm looking for some recommendations on machetes. I have been cutting trails into areas through briars and trees up to 2" or so in diameter. So far I have been unimpressed /destroyed two machetes. The gerber unit has a very comfortable handle but I have taken out two nickel size chunks...
Bullit, I tried a set back mounting method with arms that were dropped below the QA plate and stuck out rearward about 24" to mount the plow ears to. I also tried welding tabs directlyon the QA plate so the entire plow was in front.
This is a pic of the first attempt.
Vince, I think the plow...
