rew1953

I am now 67 yrs old and live in Richmond, but grew up in Lexington 25 miles away. Graduated U of KY in 1975 with BS degree in Chem Engineering. Worked in Heavy Industry< PPG Chem division for 18 yrs in WVa where I purchased 35 acres of raw ground and the 53 NAA. Had to dore Hobby Farm a complete restore before use. Tractor was essentially free, but required $1300 in parts to get running, incl new tires. Total of 3 restores now due to age. Latest was 2019 when color changed to blue/white from red/gray. Moved to Richmond in 1992 to care for aging parents and bought 28 ac Hobby Farm. Worked for Gray Construction doing medium to heavy industrial construction for 25 yrs until retirement in 2017. Bought a 1970 Ford 4000 with 2117 actual hours, unless hour meter was reversed with a drill, for $3300. Very good shape mechanically, but sheet metal and fenders in poor shape. Also, one bad rear tire and rim. Restored it from June purchase to Sept completion, then used left over paint to repair rust on NAA. Also did a body off frame restore for 14 months in 2017 and 2018 on a 1986 Ford F-150 I purchased new. Only had 100, 000 miles on it but needed lots of TLC and parts to bring back. Gave it to my middle grandson for his 16th birthday last fall. I cried almost as much as he did. Oldest grandson got a 1997 Dodge Ram on his 16th, and have a 1998 F-150 stashed in my daughters garage for the youngest. We don't spoil them too much. All 3 are good, hard working young men.
