    Basic theft prevention

in addition to physical deterents posted by others, I would put a GPS tag on it. if stolen, you're much more likely to get some police action and maybe even recovery

    Yard Raking Attachments

whatever you're mowing with won't grind up the leaves and twigs?? I have over an acre with about 20 sizeable trees and other than picking up larger branches, I don't rake anything. I use a handheld blower in a few places to move debris out for lawnmower access, but otherwise, all the leaves...

Dig septic bed with front end loader

I would treat it as a simple trench. Drag dirt with the blade past the end of the bed and when the spoils pile up too much to drive over, use the FEL to move the spoils out of the way. Lots of passes needed, but you'd be able to keep the bottom plane flat and tidy. you didn't divulge the...

What is your experience with Stabil?

according to a Mercury Marine rep some years back, he was told by Stabil people that all it does is form a layer on the top surface of the fuel to block absorption of water vapor and oxygen. If liquid water was falling from the top of the tank (condensation, etc) Stabil wouldn't help that problem.

attachment for cleaning/creating drainage ditches along gravel road

I didn't think about that, and in looking again at the pics of our tractor, it looks like one of the links is adjustable. Thanks a lot.

    Tractors and (upcoming) tariffs?

The other side of the tariff subject that people often forget is that China has very high tariffs on imports from the USA, and probably many other nations. Potential new tariffs on Chinese goods coming to the USA is a possible way to negotiate China tariffs into a more equitable status...

attachment for cleaning/creating drainage ditches along gravel road

that's a little more than I thought. I'm thinking after a pass or two at max angle and offset, you could reduce the offset and get the tractor tires a little past the shoulder into the ditch and the next pass would increase the angle. And so on until the tractor is uncomfortably tilted. :>)...

attachment for cleaning/creating drainage ditches along gravel road

do you know the max tilt angle it will go? I've been searching for specs online and tufline/General Implement seems to be keeping it secret. LOL. Thx, Bill

attachment for cleaning/creating drainage ditches along gravel road

I have a I like the idea of a towable since our tractor probably isn't heavy enough to pull several feet of offset on a 3pt rear blade. Have you ever seen a modern version of this Martin unit being sold?

attachment for cleaning/creating drainage ditches along gravel road

We have a small subdivision with gravel roads and want to do our own maintenance on the drainage ditches. The local outfit that does the main grading of the road does fairly well with crown, but very poor on the drainage (intentional?), causing extra work after big rains. I'd like to be able...

1.5 acres. Am I nuts for thinking about a tractor?

I have a B7500 Kubota (23hp) that I've used on a 1 acre lot, but nearly everything I do with it involves a backhoe attachment, i.e. excavated for a garage slab, shaped a driveway, moved bushes, etc. If I didn't already own one, I couldn't justify a purchase now. I think these are too heavy to...

LT42" with EFI engine won't engage starter

Installed new battery, the old one showed OK voltage but was 4 years old. Bench tested solenoid, operated OK. One safety switch I could get at in the battery area (sensing reverse hydro pedal) cycled open/closed circuit OK. No help.

LT42" with EFI engine won't engage starter

Thx for the reply. Do you know if it's true that the seat switch is ignored when the brake lock is engaged ?

LT42" with EFI engine won't engage starter

Model # 13B9A1CS010 mfg 04/2018 ..... 72 hours on the meter. Used the mower about 6 weeks ago to grind up leaves, ran fine, parked in the garage, and now won't start. When the key is pressed, LCD by the key shows battery voltage 12.7 for a fraction of a second, then headlights on, and from...
