5065e tie rod ball joint boot seal-replace

My dealer priced $540 per side. Mine don’t have any play on either of the 2 joints per side. It would be simpler to replace the entire assembly but with no play, I have many hundreds of hours left. I’ll keep them greased and should get plenty of time out of them

2013 5065e- ball joints don’t have castle nuts?

Thanks. Any idea what torque spec is?

2013 5065e- ball joints don’t have castle nuts?

I found the boot seals on the wheel ball joint cracked. When I went by the dealer to get the part numbers, the guy referred to this as “the yoke”. I would have called it the steering spindle. I don’t have much experience working on tractors. In any event I am referring to the boot seal on the...

2013 5065e- ball joints don’t have castle nuts?

I’m thinking of disassembling my ball joints to replace the boot seals. Mine do not have castle nuts with cotter pins. Just a regular nut. They are not loose however. Is this odd? Seems to me most ball joints have holes through the stud, a castle nut and cotter pin? I assume just torque to spec...

5065e tie rod ball joint boot seal-replace

I don’t think the chrome shaft needs to be removed. It looks like part #5 is threaded into the tie rod? I know there is a ball joint located on the end of threaded rod. A Deere mechanic showed me one. I am just trying to determine if the weight needs to be off the wheel so the wheel can freely...

5065e tie rod ball joint boot seal-replace

My 5065e is 11 years old and these have cracked, likely dry rotted. I would like to replace them without removing the tie rod end. It looks like you can loosen the jam nut, then turn the flats on the opposite end, unthreading the shaft from the tie rod. When you do this , the joint must...

    5065e (Tier 2) no start?

Agreed. Given a replacement will fail at some point, I’ll probably leave it disconnected. Thanks for you input. I really appreciate it. This is really about as simple a fix as possible.

    5065e (Tier 2) no start?

Do you guys agree no harm will come to the engine running with sensor disconnected? I think I read where it is intended to advance the timing 7-9 degrees until the coolant temp rises to >140 F. If that’s correct it means it will start using default timing. In my climate (SC) it rarely gets below...

    5065e (Tier 2) no start?

Thanks. That’s what the mechanic told me also. Looks like all the tractors are equipped with it , not knowing what climate they would be operating in

Will it hurt to run it unplugged? Permanently?

    5065e (Tier 2) no start?

My 2013 5065e has been running fine. Today, turn key and no turnover. Battery is fine, lights work. No issues with neutral safety switch, PTO is disengaged, gear selector in Park. I pulled the 10 amp starter fuse and it is blown. Swapped signal flasher relay with starter relay (same part #), and...

2013 5065e exhaust pipe heat shield screw size

Does anyone know the diameter and threads per inch on the flanged fasteners that attach the heat shield to the vertical exhaust pipe. My tractor is Tier I. I find these fasteners vibrate loose? Maybe I didn稚 torque them enough. I would like to get a replacement as I lost one and put lock washers...

    JD 5065e thermostat replacement

I was looking at my tractor yesterday and it appears there is a coolant bypass line from the block (just behind cooling fan) to the thermostat housing (on radiator side of thermostat). Is that correct? If so it looks like there is a 1/2" diameter pipe connection on the thermostat manifold. Does...
