    Diesel Fuel Transfer Tank

I'm not gonna lie - it hurt pretty bad. I found a place close to my farm that has diesel at $5.37. The pumps were set to shut down automatically at $125. I did it twice (yikes!).

    Diesel Fuel Transfer Tank

Thanks to all for sharing their thoughts! I ended up putting 5 gallons of fuel in the tank and tipping it to and fro with the pallet forks on my tractor. There was no leaking observed, so I put it back in the bed of my truck and went to the filling station. I decided to put 50 gallons in...

    Diesel Fuel Transfer Tank

So, I just picked up a 100-gallon Better Built transfer tank and a 12-volt pump at Northern Tool today. I'm going to do what I've seen other folks do, and mount the tank on a pallet so I can lift it in and out of the truck with the pallet forks on my tractor. I finished getting the pump all...

Building a custom home - HVAC options - could use a bit of help please!

I have an opinion about geothermal HVAC systems that may not be popular, but it is based on owning 2 homes over the years with geothermal heating and cooling. My experiences are both with open-loop geothermal, so maybe folks with a closed loop system have had different experiences... I don't...

Building a custom home - HVAC options - could use a bit of help please!

You can get ceiling-mounted cassettes instead of the wall-hung units. But, it does require running the copper lines through the ceiling to get to them. This can be a challenge in a retrofit. There are also low-wall mounted units available.

Oil & Fuel When I get rich like Jay Leno

I just upgraded from a manual gun to the Dewalt 20 volt gun earlier this year. I am SO grateful to the guy who put a video up on YouTube that shows the easy way to replace a cartridge in it. After pulling back the handle (which is VERY hard to pull, but maybe I'm just getting old), you don't...

Greasing my tractor in 65 degree weather

Funny - OP was born in NC but lives in NJ. I live in NC but was born in NJ. I was born in Morristown, grew up in Hackettstown.

Buying Advice Is it possible to go too big?

I know EXACTLY what you mean. Add in some videos from Tractor Mike - he is very informative, especially for a new tractor owner. I just bought my first tractor this year, and having watched lots of videos from Tractor Mike helped me feel much more comfortable about what I was getting into. Good...

    Spend my money.

A point to consider that you may or may not have thought about - there are 2 pedal types that I have seen on HST tractors. One is a single pedal (like a treadle) that you rock forward to go forward and rock back to go in reverse. The other is two separate pedals side-by-side, the leftmost one to...

Should I cab or not. Getting ready to buy

I've had one day so far this year in the upper 70's/low 80's in which the A/C in my new Kioti DK5310SE Cab tractor got used. It got so cold that I had to reduce the amount of cooling and the fan speed. Granted, that's not a day in the 90's, but I am encouraged!

My 2nd Session Stick Welding Today

I finally got some time today to spend under the hood, and I think I'm getting a LITTLE better. I brought the amps up to 105 with 1/8" 6013 on 1/4" plate and ran some beads. Still not great, but I'm still having fun with it (I still smile when I strike and maintain an arc!). I tried slowing...

My first Stick Welds Since 1981...

I just received my new Powerarc 200ST a couple of days ago, and I gave it a quick inaugural spin this morning. I am REALLY pleased... Back in high school, I never did learn how to strike and maintain an arc, and that has haunted me ever since. Here's my first effort since then: It's a start...

    New Guy Introducing Myself

Hello, all! I've been lurking a while and decided to finally sign up and say hello. I've recently decided to teach myself how to weld from a hobbyist's point of view. Wanting to learn to weld has been with me since my days in High School Metal Shop. I never could strike and hold an arc with a...
