    power tool recommendation

I've had a Northern Tools Powerhorse washer, 3000 PSI, for about 3 years and it works fine for my use. I only use it about 7 or 8 times a year. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again if need arose. Selling for about $300 right now.

    Tiny tractor hay.

Around here all you do is call a guy that bales hay. He charges a fee per bale, round or squqre, he does it when you need it and all you have to do is put it in the barn. For 10 acres, I would not go to that expense and also have to worry about the maintenance and storage for that equipment...

Runs nice and dies in 20 min UPDATE UPDATE

Some New Hollands have an electric fuel shutoff solenoid. I am not familiar with that tractor, but.....just in case.

    steering wheel spinner knob

Sorry, but I wouldn't have one. If you ever get hit in the wrist with one after your front tires hit something, you won't want one either.

Something I don't understand about applications of below 40hp tractors

I grew up using a Farmall Model C, 23 HP, to pull a 2 bottom plow, 2 row cultivators, planters and anything else that needed being done. Also used a Ford 8N, 27HP, and pulled a 2 bottom plow in dry soil. As someone already mentioned, you either need a standard gear transmission for soil...

JD 1050 - LABOR COST for cleaning and reinstalling injectors?

I compared the price of cleaning injectors for an old JD and I decided to just buy new ones. No way I would pay that dealer to do anything. If you ask around or even check craigslist you can find mechanics that are looking for work. They are much cheaper and if you get some recommendations, you...

    which sanding pads?

You might want to find the detailed description of those discs you show. They look like what I use to get paint and rust off of metal. Get you an orbital sander and 80 grit for the first go around and then 220 to smooth it out for staining or paint. Recommend stain. It does a better job of...

Can all tractors flip over easy?

I agree with everyone regarding the flipping of a tractor. I once was trying to move a mobile home with a Farmall C. I let out the clutch and was looking behind me to see the home move. When I turned around the front of the tractor was 4 feet in the air. I immediately stepped on the clutch and...

    grease gun

I bought the lock-n-lube and it works fine. I like the tip that locks on to the grease zerk. I didn't think the price was that bad after comparing it to other brands. I considered buying a battery powered, but I don't use my equipment enough to justify it.

face mask for mowing tired of the dust?

I recommend the 3M 8511 because it has the breathing filter in the middle of it and it won't fog your glasses. Northern tools sells them and I use it anytime I drive the tractor or use the push mower or weed whacker. Inexpensive and really helps.

Can a propane tank be repurposed?

Most sprayers that I am familiar with do not have the contents in a pressurized tank. They have a pump to increase the pressure for spraying. That way the container can be plastic or some other light weight material and it can easily be carried in a backpack sprayer or just by hand. Around here...

Guy uses fake check to steal Massey tractor...recognize him?

That was probably not his first visit to the dealer or even other dealers in the area. I would be asking about video footage from every dealer in the area and if you find any, it might have a license plate visible. Also check with Big Tex trailer sales in the area. That looks like a fairly new...

Stuck knife head bolt — sickle bar cutter

One guess is that the bracket on the right has worn a groove into the bolt just below the head and it has mushroomed. That's why it won't slide to the right. I would probably cut it off with an angle grinder or hack saw and then pry it out from the left as previously suggested.

    What would you do ?

I'd probably just pay someone to do it. By the time you pay for the fuel and consider your labor, its almost a wash. Go for a visit and see what she can tolerate till a later date. I am in the same boat as you here in San Antonio. I do a little in the morning and in the evening, but in the...

6ft Rotory Tiller not getting job done

I would never use a tiller first on that type of soil. Another thing I consider is the moisture in the soil. If it has not been plowed or cultivated for years and its very dry, I will probably wait for the right moisture and then plow it first. If it was worked in the past year, might use the...
