    Fuel solenoid?

For the past few months, I've had to keep the key turned to start position even after engine is firing, I.e. Keep starter cranking, because if I don't the engine stalls immediately. I'm guessing it's a sticky fuel pump solenoid? Thanks for any input. Marcus

Clamp on or stand alone pallet forks ?

Here's some pics of what I was referring to. It's an easy way to make your own pallet forks if you have access to some old forks and have a little welding skills (or can get a friend to weld for you, like I did). The SSQA adapter plate was $120, the forks were surplus, the round rod stock...

    Open cab storage

Very nice mod, BethelHntr! I think all of us wish we had more cup holders. Coyote Machine, my DK45 is 2008 vintage -- out of warranty. Here's the seat: Here's a pic of the little OEM toolbox when the backhoe is installed. Not much room for any other storage between the seats.

    I witnessed foolishness today

This will be sure to raise some hackles. Some country folk having a good time: Me with my kids and their cousins. Nothing like a great tractor ride, and learning to steer. According to many here, I must be insane... Of course, there's no mower on the back...

    DK45S Canopy Advice

Why don't you make your own? I have a DK45 and built mine from U-bolts, plywood, elastomeric waterproof paint, EMT conduit, etc. Sounds a little redneck but it was cheap and works great. You can attach the front to FEL mounts and the back to the ROPS. Here are a few pics:

    Suspension bridge design

Danno1, thanks also for your reply. Here's a quick drawing: CliffordK, a culvert bridge would require too many permits. A BLM paved road is right next to the creek, through the middle of my land. BLM, Forest Service, etc. have seen the other bridges I built, but as soon as I disturb the...

    Suspension bridge design

Thank you, BTDT, for the link to your thread. That's basically what I had in mind. You went longer spans than what I had in mind for each segment, both longitudinally and transversely. And I don't plan on driving my tractor across it. CNC Dan, thanks for the link to EpicFEM...

    Suspension bridge design

Hello friends, I'm in the design phase of building a suspension bridge (footbridge) across a year-round creek on my land. An earlier bridge got washed away in high water 2 years ago. This one will be higher off the water and stronger. I had designed a wood bridge but now I'm thinking a...

Brake light bulb housing plastic falling apart on DK45SE

I have a DK45SE, bought new in 2008, now with 500 hours. I noticed a few weeks ago the L brake light was burned out, so I took apart the housing to change the bulb a few days ago. Here's what it looked like inside. The plastic of the bulb housing "locking" mechanism is crumbling away...

Trying to build a small barn. Feed back is more than welcome.

Respectfully, I disagree with quicksandfarmer. If you follow some decent plans, you don't need to buy a kit. Much of the engineering can just be looked up on load tables (online, books, or lumber yard). As long as you're using regular framing, or pole construction on accepted intervals...

    CountyLine 3pt Fence Stretcher

Nice job! Glad it's coming together for you. Do you have a backhoe? Here's another idea. You can hook up a chain/cable from the side of the hoe bucket to your 2x4 "stretcher bar", and pull your fence line tight with the side-to-side motion of the hoe. (It has a lot less force than the...

    Just another DIY tractor canopy

Just finished building my tractor canopy yesterday. I wasn't about to pay >$500 for a piece of fiberglass.

Am i crazy for wanting wood barn?

Wood barns are beautiful! I just built mine. It's 36' x 36', pole frame w/ 1x12 rough-cut pine vertical siding. 16' wide center aisle without center posts. Built the trusses myself. Already have mice building nests and need to get a few barn cats! :) Metal barns are just big metal...

Where to buy unusual size U-bolt?

Probably an easy answer? I'm just looking for a 3" wide U-bolt for attaching stuff to my ROPS. (Kioti DK45) Up until now I've used hose clamps to attach fire extinguisher and lights, but I'd like to build a sun shade out of fiberglass and plywood, and attach it with U-bolts. Reasonable...

Hydroelectric turbine providing power to our off-grid house

Here's what I worked on with my tractor on Friday afternoon: 1st some backgroundd: We live off-grid -- not connected to utility power at all. In summer there is plenty of power from solar panels. In fall and winter, things are not so nice. Lots of rain and overcast. We have to charge...
