Well,
So I got the front axle fixed, and the tachometer fixed, only to discover I now have a rear axle oil seal leak.
As my tractor was waiting for parts, I thought it was rain water by the rear wheel, I didn't think twice about it as it's been raining..come to find out the drivers side rear...
Well.. Parts came in, and wouldn't you know it, not the right size.
Turns out my 6284 have 5000 series parts in them(note, axle has never been apart before)
I've read about the 5000 series breaking axles, and sure enough mine has the 5000 series axle shafts, go figure.
So I new part was from a...
While mowing, wheel fell off.
I do mow with the loader on, but had no idea a shaft would break so easily.
Ordered parts, will document fix.

I see the bolt that needs unscrewed to drain the fliud, but also noticed two bolts on the bottom towards the back that face the ground, should these
be removed as well, it looks like some fluid could be in there as they look like 1/2 circles, where gears might be.
Can anyone offer a parts diagram for the drive shaft that
connects to the 811 mmm mower deck? I beleive this deck worked on 5000 and 6000 series cub cadets
Somehow the bolt that attaches the shaft to the mower came loose
and lodged itself into the u joint closest to the transmission and sheared...
I felt a little embarrased yesterday. I went to lift a piece of equipment on to a trailer, and the factory loader would not lift it, about all i can lift is my mmm with it.
With that said, does anyone know how to adjust the relief pressure?
I am going to throw some weights in the bucket and...
Guys,
I finally got my used cab installed, now all I need is a wiper arm.
Does anyone know where I can find one? I'd even consider a rear arm off of
an automobile vehicle if I knew what would fit.
Heres all I know:
The part that the arm would attach to is 13.75mm
The part says TYPE WWF 12V...
I am working on a very small project to keep the blowing snow from hitting my face.
The first time I used the front mount blower this year, I realized I need some protection from the blowing snow.
When the snow hit my face and melted, it was oh so painful. A memory that I hope to soon forget...
I was snowblowing this am, and got a little stuck while in reverse.
I pushed the differential lock while in reverse and just one back wheel (and one front)was turning (providing power).
Can anyone confirm if maybe the differential lock only works going forward?
I did not test it going forward...
My 54" blower finally came in for my 6284. Hooked it up last night.
Had to remove loader, and belly brackets of of front hitch.:(
This was new old stock, was sitting at a dealer for a while, and I got a great
price on it, included pto shaft, and front hitch.
Since it sat, i decided to take...
Anyone else notice that the keyhole freezes easily?
Twice this week now I went to use the tractor, and couldn't start it because
I could not get the key in.
Guess I will have to get out the hair dryer and warm it up.
I'm thinking of fabbing something up to cover the opening.
Can anyone confirm what engine is in the 6284.
I believe it is a perkins 403d-11
Does anyone have a service manual for it?
I've attached a pdf of that engine at 3400 rpm peaks at 21KW, which is about 28hp.
I have looked around on the internet and found a nice pdf file that gives
a ton of...
Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum. I have a question. I used the seach button and have researched alot of threads, but need more info.
I have a 226d, and it will not move only in second gear, even in all three ranges.
Reverse, first, and third work fine. I took the top of the tranmission off and...
