    Kioti

I've owned a Kioti CK35 for 11 years. I am a small landowner who uses the tractor to bush-hog 5 acres, disk a small garden and use a box blade to keep the gravel driveway in shape .The front- end loader is useful to move dirt and I purchased a set of forks that attach to the loader bucket to...

    Do backyard tractors need grease?

They pot those Zerk fittings there for a reason- . If you don't the grease in the fittings will get hard and you can't push it out with a conventional grease gun. You will then have to replace the fittings. As someone else said in an earlier post- grease is cheaper than parts .

    Filling a cistern

I would not burn . I would get some sand and fill it with that. Sand packs tighter when it settles. Just add a little more in a year or so.

    Correct my thinking...

Buy your tractor- if you can find one. If you get a front end loader you will have to invest a $ 5,000.00 more ( category one tractor ) ,but you will find a great many more uses for your tractor and I predict you will Never sell it. That said if you do sale , you will not lose any money in...

    Formal Training?

I live in Mississippi and I'm old so things may have changed but, we had no such training when I was in school. We were all " hands on " . Not a bad idea though .

Restoring antique plow - need to remove rusted nuts/bolts - how much heat?

Use your Dremel with a cut-off wheel or an angle grinder if you can to cut the nut then knock out the bolt. When you heat with a torch it's very easy to heat both the nut and the bolt and you are expanding both so you have defeated your purpose.

Hydraulic Pump Noise... but not always.

Sounds like you have a closed system when you are not using your hydraulics. There should be a bypass that will allow fluid to circulate .

    Kubota overheating

While removing the radiator and flushing it out may be the answer I would install a new thermostat and change out the suction hose on the tractor. The hose may be collapsing a little and you may not be getting the flow rate needed to cool - the new thermostat because the engine was designed to...

A few pics from today’s square baling

I thought square bailing was a thing of the past. Labor intensive and a great deal of storage needed, plus danger of burning barn to ground if hay is too green. Really good pictures though.

Digging trench for PVC water line, advice on potential obstacles

Calling 811 will get you someone to check for utility lines going to the house ( at least that's what I was told by the 811 guy ). They will not locate the power line to the water well. If you elect to do any digging without knowing where the power line is - Please be sure to turn the power off...

    What if....?

Keep your tractor if you are able to make the notes. You have the ability to grade your driveway WHEN you want to . You can move large trees and limbs out of the way WHEN you need to ( think after a thunderstorm or tornado or hurricane ) depending on your part of the country. There is never a...
