Buying Advice Debating buying an Avant 528 loader

Seems like better bang for the buck cutting out the middle man - with no dealers. The Avant with no implements is $49k and the Power-Trac 1445 is $35k. However, shipping to Hawaii would eat all of that savings up and then some. It cost $13k to ship a container here from the PNW - self packed...

Buying Advice Debating buying an Avant 528 loader

As I am in Hawaii, the only dealers on my island for a small articulated loader are Bobcat and Avant. After reading every web review, it was clear the Avant 528 was the choice over the Bobcagt L28. There are other tractor dealers (e.g. John Deere, Kubota) if I wanted a skid steer, but these...

Buying Advice  Debating buying an Avant 528 loader

I sold my house and my Kioti DK40SE along with it. Moved to a smaller property (sloping 2 acres) and got older along the way. I'm planning landscaping and an orchard. I'd like advice on what the Avant 528 can and can't (or shouldn't) do. I would get a 4 in 1 bucket, forks, auger, and flail...

    DK40SE Squeal - Tightening the Belt(s)

I tightened the alternator belt and squealing stopped. Thanks everyone and @Harry in Ky in particular .

Kioti Sun Visor and Antenna Parts

Thank you for the link. It helped me zero in on the bracket part. Decided to call my dealer and he verified it was one of those (I believe T4930-80143). I hope it isn't a "fixed" visor - that it can drop down and be put back up. We'll see.

    DK40SE Squeal - Tightening the Belt(s)

I adjusted the alternator and no squeal - but it had already warmed up and stopped squealing before. I'll know in the morning for sure. Thanks for your help. It definitely needed both bolts loosened. The bottom one seemed to be SAE and not metric. Strange. I left the A/C belt alone. It made no...

Kioti Sun Visor and Antenna Parts

The sun visor no longer works. I'm not actually sure how it's supposed to work or where to get parts. Does the metal bar turn in the visor or does the visor rod turn in the plastic clip/sleeve? I can't find anywhere that I can get replacement clips/sleeves. The antenna also broke from something...

    DK40SE Squeal - Tightening the Belt(s)

I will try the alternator belt, thanks. I do constantly have the A/C on in the summer, so I'll try starting it without and switch it on to see if it makes a difference. Did I get the procedure correct with the A/C belt? Somewhere I read that it the play is more than 1/2" deflection, it is too...

    DK40SE Squeal - Tightening the Belt(s)

Please forgive what must be second nature to many. My 10 year old DK40SE with about 380 hours is squealing on startup. It's gotten worse and is time to fix. I'm presuming it's the belt. It's coming from the front, it goes away when warmed up - although taking longer now. With only 380 hours, I...

Front End Loader Arms and Bucket Cylinders Barely Moving

You were 100% correct. Not sure if this is age related, color blindness, or a case of changes I made when swapping to the blower last fall. I need to label better is the final assessment. I solved it by getting out the manual and tracing the lines. Sure enough, it showed me which two were...

Front End Loader Arms and Bucket Cylinders Barely Moving

I just took off my front end snow blower from my DK40 and am attempting to hook up my front end loader. I've been doing this for about 9 years, and I've never had an issue. I've: moved the tractor in place so the arms are aligned hooked up (twice) the 4 hoses and they are color coded matched...

    Rear Work Lights not working

I changed out all the bulbs on my DK40SE (only one headlamp was left working). When done, I found that the two rear work lights won't work. I replaced them (and the fronts) with NAPA BP1235/H3-N. Since the front work lights work fine, my guess is that the cab switch is bad. However, the cab...

    Bleeding Fuel Line

I've got a DK40se and when I replaced my fuel filter, I stupidly forget to unscrew the bleeding bolt when cranking in the ON position. I presume the tractor won't start because there is fuel in the injector lines. I was able to access one of the injector nuts with a regular wrench and got a bit...

    Snow  DK40 OEM Snowblower

I have a DK40 OEM Front Mount Snowblower and broke the fan shear pin - a rock got wedged in. The manual lists it as an M8 x 1.25 x 35 gr. 6.6. There is only one place on the whole web which references a grade 6.6 bolt - this post on tractorbynet where the user Chilly807 says that Amazing that...

    Replacing Block Heater

This is a case of having done the work and wondering if I need to do it over correctly... I replaced a back block heater. The heater screws into a sleeve which slides into the tractor block. When I installed the new heater, I screwed the heater to the sleeve in the shop using Teflon tape...
