Thanks for everyone's suggestions. I got it all back together and it works great. Hardest part was ensuring both halves of the tractor were sitting at the correct angle while pushing and pulling the halves together. Used a couple of ratchet straps on each side of the tractor to close that...
Thanks patches. I'm going to put this thing back together tomorrow. I need to know some of the torque values for the four bolts on the input shaft to the transmission, the flywheel bolts and the bolts holding dual stage clutch assembly together.
In the process of replacing the clutch in my LK 3054. The hour meter reads 430.0. My buddy gave it to me because it would lose forward power while going up hill and he is not a mechanic. When i got it, the situation got even worse and the tractor got to the point where it could not move while...
another contributor to my question advised there was no way to adjust the clutch without splitting the tractor. He advised you could only adjust the PTO clutch through the inspection plates.
K5, Based on your post, can any clutch shop build/re-line my old clutch for a new and improved clutch or do i need to contact Forty Wayne Clutch for this service?
thanks Willys. i'll keep looking. My PTO wont stop turning either when i push the clutch in. I may have to seperate the tractor and dive into that clutch pack
Thanks robin. can you tell me how to get to the locking nut on the adjustment bolt? I can see the bolt head that needs to be screwed in, but i need to get to the locking nut the manual describes and there is no access to the locking nut.
Thanks, K5. good idea to check the rims spinning on the tires. I checked the free play on the clutch pedal, and it is correct. So, there is no way to adjust that clutch from the inspection ports that is described in the service manual?
Thanks Patches. If I understand this correctly, I'm not trying to adjust the fingers. I'm trying to adjust the clearance between the travelling pressure plate and the adjusting screws. The gap they call for is 0.039" at the most. The gap i saw last night was .25. My problem is i believe i...
Thanks Rodney!! Looking for some instructions on how to adjust that clutch. The manual is kinda informative, but i removed the two inspection plates down my right foot and could only see the top or bolt head of the adjusting screw and it is WAY out of adjustment. Looked like a 1/8 or .25"gap...
NO sir. The high low shifter is not in neutral. It seems way worse when operating in the high range. ANY incline will make the tractor come to a stop. Throttle increase has no effect. If I use the low range i can get it to start moving, but it is very slow. Like it is spinning up and then...
