Yes those 50 series compact tractors were Yanmar all the way through. I think they had a pretty good reputation for being tough, albeit a little less refined. I am actually looking for a nice 650 or 750 to add to my arsenal.
I must respectfully disagree with the statement that the 55 series compact tractors were built by Yanmar for Deere. These tractors were initially built in Horicon Wisconsin by John Deere. Of course they had a Yanmar engine and I am sure some other outsourced assemblies. I had the good fortune...
The later GX345 models had the differential lock. My GX is an earlier model without the lock and I wish I had one. I bought mine for our one acre lawn and for snow removal at our property in Wisconsin. This is the first vertical shaft Kawasaki engine Deere I've owned and I am actually quite...
I just used my new Frontier SB1164P (hybrid) blower for the first time last weekend. I have it on my 2038R John Deere.
The 2038R handled it easily. I know it was only the first test but I was impressed. It was so nice to back up to the garage doors and leave very little snow behind. The...
I noticed you have the plow from mysnowsport.com. I didn't know they made them for the loader on a compact utility tractor. What is your impression of this plow?
I just went over 70,000 on my 2019 and wouldn't hesitate to get another. In fact, have been checking out the 2024 models and might just have to make a move. I am waiting to see if the 2.7 Ecoboost engine becomes available as is the rumor.
I owned a TC40D and later two TC40DA tractors (my dealer was very good on one year trades) and was most pleased with them. I think the 2-speed hydro transmission was one of the most impressive pieces of technology used in a compact utility tractor. I usually could pick the transmission range...
I think we bad better get used to their crazy predictions for the rest of the winter. The weather people live for the next storm and the more drama involved, the better. Predicting an inch of snow sounds rather bland, but predicting a foot gets everyone excited regardless of whether you love...
I'm pretty sure they (wives) do the same. I'm also pretty sure that they use some of the same techniques we do when we claim the new item up in the shed has been there for years. I know there are some new things inside the house that are claimed to have "been there for years".
My insurance company was also concerned about my wood stove when we purchase property in Wisconsin. We provided pictures and documentation showing the stove was installed by a licensed professional so they were satisfied. You would think though in Northern Wisconsin if you refused to cover wood...
I feel your pain. I traded my JD 2025R on a new 2038R a year ago. I liked mowing with the 2025 over the 2038 and when I think of what I was given on trade for the 2025 keeping it and having two tractors would have been well worth it.
It was not my best purchasing decision. My vote is to have...
The same thing is happening in SE Minnesota now. There was a time (I know this comments dates me) when Minnesota people were a hardy bunch who took pride in our ability to survive a tough winter. Some of us actually enjoyed the winter season with tubing, skiing, snowmobiling, winter bonfires...
