Age old question; which tractor for steep hills

Width is definitely your friend when it comes to slopes. I mow some really steep stuff with the old Ford. For reference, that is a 6 foot cutter.

Slope...what is safe?? Anyone here ever roll over?

Back to the question of mowing steep stuff... I mow some pretty steep ground. I'm less likely to roll on it than slide off it.

    Truck tires on a UTV?

I'm planning to tag my Defender for road use (we can do that where I live), so I need to put it on DOT approved tires. I see two options: 1) I can buy DOT approve UTV tires. 2) I can buy larger rims and put light truck tires on it. The UTV tires are more expensive and I suspect they will...

Polaris Ranger Crew Reliability Question - What UTV to Buy????

I loved the seating position of the Viking and think the Ranch edition is beautiful. Two things took it out of contention though: first it does not have a "turf mode". The rear differential is permanently locked. Not only does that tear up the grass, but it means that if you drive it on...

Home Depot Bulldog 700 4x4 UTV?

Congrats on the Mule. It should serve you well. I just bought a Can Am Defender HD8 myself. Picked up a base model and added a windshield, power steering and a top. All up with the governor's ransom it was a bit over $12K. The EPS kit is on back order and I'm thinking of cancelling it...

    Cub Cadet Challenger 750

Have you had it on any high speed runs? Curious if you have found the top speed? I've seen one advertised locally at a really good price.

    Ford 2000 and 3000 pricing / reliability?

In my area you can still find good condition Ford 2000 and 3000 (a lot of those) tractors. Gas versions usually run in the $3,000 to $4,500 range. Diesels are much more popular and will run $4,000-$7,000 depending on condition and whether it has a loader. They are reliable tractors. The...

Wheel Spacer Question: 1" vs 3"

I'm of the wider is better school of thought. Actually in my case, wider is a necessity since a lot of my property is literally the side of a mountain. That is a 6 foot hog.

    Stuck in the mud

I feel your pain. I've had to pull my Ford out twice in the last week due to finding soft spots. There are several wet weather springs on our property and it makes for some surprises from time to time. A spot that was no problem 2 months ago might be a complete swamp today. I really need...

    Coming back together.

The 214 I picked up as a winter project is coming back together. It needed a fuel line and pump, a good cleaning and some jury rigging set right. While I was at it a 10 foot paint job seemed in order. This will be a working machine so no show quality restoration needed. I still have to sort...

    TODAYS SEAT TIME

Not much tractor time this weekend. Saturday was my mother-in-law's 73rd birthday. She had never had a birthday party in her life ...so we invited about 30 people over and threw her a surprise party! Yesterday afternoon was spent relocating equipment so I can get some fields turned and...

    FASCO loader parts

Does anyone know of a source for Ford/FASCO loader parts? I am needing seals for the lift cylinders on my Ford/FASCO 1200 loader and can't seem to find them listed anywhere. This one has single acting cylinders on it. If I figure out what the plunger diameter is can I order universal seals...

    Commercial Use?

Just curious if anyone on the board is using their RK tractor for commercial use? I have a friend who is a residential contractor that is looking at the RK37 for jobsite use. He needs something to move materials around the jobsites, dig the occasional footer or open up foundations for...
