Ford 8N or similar older types

Funny you should ask. According to the numbers it started life as a diesel but someone swapped in a gas. I never knew just by looking at it that it wasn't original. I believe it was restored years ago and maybe got a repaint at that time. It runs so nice. Haven't got a chance to work it yet...

Ford 8N or similar older types

There's a lot of love and hate for the old machines here. I'd guess the hate comes mostly from folks under 40. Anyhow, I went through the same mental gymnastics about which tractor to buy recently too. I wanted an 8N bad until a guy years ago filled me in on the same problems everyone here...

    Loader for 3500 Industrial

Does anyone know what series of Ford loaders will fit on my 3500 Industrial? I've seen some pictures online that look like a 730 and then I've seen some that look like what I think is a 735. I'm assuming multiple models will fit (?) Any other tractor manufacturers loaders fit, maybe a Massey...

    '64 2000 question

I ended up buying a clean '70 3500 industrial. It's got a 6x4 trans. I'll probably not blow snow with it. I think I'll use a plow on a truck instead.

    '64 2000 question

I wish I had taken a picture. Sounds just as you described. So that would effect pto speed as well right? If I were to get this tractor I would want to have some sort of snowblower on it at some point.

    '64 2000 question

I looked at what is advertised as a '64 2000 today. I have a quick question about something I'm not familiar with on that year. The machine is a 4 spd with a loader and the owner pointed out a lever by your left leg he said is to switch low/high range. Is that a Ford option or something like...

Snow 3 point hitch mount vs front snow blower mount

I've got a fused C1 and C2 so turning my neck is an issue for sure. I'm considering a rear snowblower for my next tractor anyway. Here's the reasons why I'll be going with a rear unit. I have not looked into the pull rear blowers yet. 1) My driveway and road have some ups and downs that a...

    860/861 Powermaster question

I'm in the market for a 860 or 861 and am trying to get a list of common issues with this particular series to look for or stay away from. I've heard to look for popping out of gear. Other than that, do these tractors have a dirty little secret I don't know about?:D

looking to replace my wood stove

I've not been 100% satisfied with the Vermont Casting Vigilant I've been running at my camp the last few years. I'm not a fan of the topload and I can't get a full night's burn out of it. The front doors are all but useless to use while a fire is going. I will say that the output is fine for...

looking for new ideas for ground cover

Here's my situation. I own a 17 acre woodlot that I have built a "camp" on. I'll be finishing up the "landscaping" in the spring and am looking for ideas for ground cover around the house. The "D" side of the house which is the right side if looking at the front door is where the septic...

anyone using a 4 in 1 FEL to plow snow

I know I shouldn't be thinking about plowing snow when the last of it is just melting on my road but since my machine is new to me my wheels are spinning about how to put my new toy to work. So, is anyone plowing snow with a "clamshell"? It's basically a dozen blade so I'm hoping it will work...

    And.......another newbie here!

I just wanted to post an introduction. I'm doing my research for a future tractor purchase. I'm focusing on a used machine but with the 0% financing most manufacturers are offering, new is not out of the question. I'm looking for a utility tractor for a 40 acre homestead in Western Maine...
