Thx I’ve been doing it 3-4 a d cranking it for a minute or two and it eventually starts. I’ll have to check on the oil type. I’m going to try and do some testing on the glow plugs it feels like maybe a relay or something

    Kubota LX4020 cold start

I've got a newer Kubota LX4020 that's a few months old and just had it's 50 hour service. I've had a few issues with it, but we seem to have worked the bugs out and it's running fine. As the weather has gotten colder I've noticed it not wanted to start when it's 30's or below. Specifically today...

    New lx reverse issue

Unfortunately looking like a manufacturing or assembly issue. Back to the dealer, losing a week on a job site because of it. Not impressed, second bad experience with a new kubota in 2 years maybe it’s time to try something new…..

    New lx reverse issue

Have a new lx4020 and having a strange hydro pedal issue. When trying to reverse there’s a metal piece that looks like it raises up into the operator platform that snags (misaligned?). If I push it over it works fine but seems to snag regularly making reverse not work. Related the pedal also...

    Large Brush pile chipping

Nice work! For similar jobs I’ve seen people use a mulched head on an excavator to chip in place (well it more shreds but makes quick work of piles). Very expensive equipment though

    Starlink

it may hurt your speed some, but before I ran conduit and cat5 between my house and garage I used a Ethernet over power adapter and it worked decently. Easy to setup and not too expensive

    Starlink

The power module for the Starlink fish and router gets SUPER hot, actually melted a plastic shelf I had it on. I now have it on a metal trivet. If you put that and the router in a light enclosure or smal Room that won’t block the signal it’ll keep itself warm. You can still use your old router...

Cargo container / box installed on equipment trailer? Am I crazy?

I've got an old equipment trailer with a 16' bed for moving my tractor around. I need to move some other stuff as well, but it would be best suited for an enclosed cargo trailer (think boxes, household goods, stuff like that). Pricing out Cargo trailers I'm starting to wonder if I could put some...

    sanity check my bridge design

I need to replace a failed bridge (rotted out after 30 years) on a property I'm purchasing. Due to restrictions in local rules I'm only allowed to replace the bridge (i.e. I can't make it a culvert). The crossing is 12' long over a V shaped ditch and small (6" wide, 1" deep) stream, the height...

    Ways to determine grease compatability

I have a trailer that is new to me and I want to add some grease to the bearings. I have no idea what type of grease is in there already. Is there a way to tell if the grease is compatible by mixing some of it with the new grease or any other methods when one type is unknown? Trying to avoid a...

Finding a good trailer repair shop

Looking for a good trailer repair shop, but having trouble finding one in my area (NW of boston). I've got an old equipment trailer I need to move the tractor around on that needs to be aligned and a set of brakes. I've got a smaller one that needs the hubs redone. How do you guys find a good...

Got lucky - subframe BH fell over

Wanted to share a cautionary tale from the other day. I was putting my subframe mounted Back Hoe back on the tractor after having it off for a long time (so I was rusty with the procedure). I noticed it was on the dolly wrong and nearly falling off, which made lining up hard and required me to...

    Hydraulic breaker on tractor?

Anyone ever heard of or seen an attachments for a hydraulic breaker on a tractor? I have seen them on skid steers. Just curious if they make them for tractors or not.

    birds on the ground

This was one from today. I think they probably have a very high mortality rate the first few days out of the nest. I nearly stepped on him.

    birds on the ground

It's that time of year here (well the second wave anyway). Lots of birds just out of the nest on the ground or learning to fly. We seem to get several waves of them here. I almost stepped on one today, had to pick it up and relocate it a few feet away. (Parents are still caring for them at this...
