Kubota LX2620HSD with 5' rear snow blower?

To OP: The conventional wisdom seems to be about 5hp for every foot length of pto blower. That said, you are not far off and its cheaper to use what you have than run out for bigger. My first tractor was an overgrown lawnmower [Massey 1020] and it managed a 5 ft blower. It didn't love packed...

    Goats for a clean pond?

All old time mariners will tell you that regardless of the watercraft, if there is a hole in the hull, it will fill with water and sink.

    Goats for a clean pond?

HippieFarmer: They taste much better if you don't name them. Might I humbly suggest that naming them appropriately can set the stage of expectation: BBQ, BackStrap, Burger, Osso Buco...Buco, for short. When my son started his chickens, I told him to teach the kids their table names: dipping...

When is a Chain at End of Life

Filing the same number of strokes on each side seems to be a myth to me. I sharpen each side until each cutter is fully parallel to the etch mark on the cutter and the gullet is sharp. The saw cuts straight. Learnt in the Buckin' Billy Ray youtube school. And when ther is not tooth left to...

How about a grease cartridge thread?

Red grease. Trouble is that where does it squish out to and is there a danger of blowing seals with too much grease? My wife has had both knees replaced. I asked the doc to install zerks. He smiled and said they were sealed bearings.

    Better Lynch Pin?

I have done the same thing on certain implements. In fact, after installing the large washers on the 3pt pins, i use larger hair pins and it works great. Finish mower and snowblower both seem to like it. I have not done so with the big rotary cutter yet.

    Grading Grading bare limestone

So true. And the box blade will transport material well. A landplane attachment will be the ticket for final surfacing and is far less finicky to operate.

    Land plane Vs. Harley rake

Here is another vote for the land plane. I have a quarter mile access road and a couple parking lots that I tend. The box blade and even the york rake were my initial tools. I found that small variations in front tire elevations while driving were amplified through the tractor body to the...

    Finish Mower vs Belly Mower

All good info. Lots of hours of experience in the previous posts. I will only add this: I opted for a craigslist find of a 3pt hitch finish mower [LandPride] and have never once missed the belly mower my previous Massey had. This mower has survived a couple tractors and is very easy to...

One Tractor To Do It All?

I would like to chime in here as well: using a tractor to mow is great for all the advantages listed, but it WILL increase mowing time. And to the point of this reply: a belly mower is a pain - both to get on/off (for reasons of being in the way) and also a sharp pain to clean. I would...

    Brush Grubber

I have one of the barbed chain style It works great! However, as others have posted, it is labor intensive - every pull requires an off-tractor set up. But it is effective! Only put a clevis in your towbar off the back of the tractor and chain to that. OP had mentioned drawbar and, if by...

Landscape Rake to get gravel back onto road?

I also have a quarter mile gravel roadway to maintain. I started out with a York rake to maintain it and when I upgraded tractors, I bought a used land plane from the dealer. This animal is the one! Even for someone like me!! I adjust the left/right cant with the lift arms on the 3point to...
