    backhoe for 4310

I talked to my dealer yesterday and he said I could do a 48 or a 447 not a 448 for my 4310. I have power beyond already. For the 48 it was $7800 installed with pick up and delivery. The 447 was $7200. What is everyones thoughts? I thought I could get a 448. Is this a good deal?

    Fence Posts

I have a 12" auger on my phd. I am setting 6-8" x 8ft posts for fence and trellis. What is the best way to put post in the ground? Do I dig the 12-18" holes center pinta treated posts and tamp the dirt in around it? Do I use concrete? Should I use a post driver (which I don't have...

    Posthole Digger  Post hole digger

Does anyone have a Northern Tools Post Hole digger? They seem to be fairly cheap and on sale. This is not for commercial applications, and I haven't hit any rocks yet with the rental phd. How do they hold up? My nearest dealer quoted $650 with auger. He wouldn't give me the mfg.

I have my tilt meter and have a fairly good sloop to my yard. I have already moved my turfs to the wide position in the back not the front. What is the greatest tilt I can safely operate at? Is putting the fronts at the wider stance going to help much? Should I get wheel weights? Does the...

    Grass seed

This isn't the most exciting project, but I am seeding and overseeding 2 acres of my yard. I am using a mix called Macho from The Grass Pad, and the reason I am posting this is I'm renting a Sukup slip seeder ($110/day) for the 3 point. I will post pictures.

    Fence Project

I want to use some 8" x 10ft pinta treated wood posts (utility posts) for corners. I will use my post hole digger on my jd4310 and bury the post 4 feet in the ground giving me a nice 6ft privacy fence. The only place that I have found to be able to buy these from is the utility company...

I have power beyond on my 4310. The 48 backhoe is on my ultimate wish list. In the mean time I want to power a couple of open center valves one specifically for a hydraulic top link. What has thrown me is that there are (3) ports with a hose connecting 2 of them. Which port would power a...
