    My Brothers Estate

Eddie, I very sorry for your loss and my condolences to you and your family. I lost one my brothers in very similar circumstances in 2019, so I can appreciate your situation. Lots of good advice here. Perhaps the best is not to rush any decisions. You need time to process the grief...

    Milkweed Control

The key thing about spraying herbicides like 2-4-d is you need to pick you spot in time. Like others have said, a surfactant will help, but you need to spray when the plant is transpiring--e.g. breathing. If it is too hot or the plant is is draught stressed, the openings on the plant leaves...

    Moving shipping containers

I was able to drag my in-laws 20 ft container with the Kioti Do you have any steel pipe from a drilling rig? If you can get up on the pipe, you can easily roll from place the place...The trick is having enough pieces of pipe, some 2x4 runners for the ground and a few helpers

Commode keeps plugging. sometime it good 3 months A snake clears it in 4 -5 ft. commode on line always runs.

This is most likely your problem...especially if you have hard water. We have very hard water. I have to clean the jets every 6 months and basically replace the toilets every 7-10 years. I just did the one in our master bath that I installed in 2010. Night and day difference.

    My favorite Sanding Disks

For woodworking, I have switched to the 3M stuff---it is great. I thought I would share this test that Jonathan Katz-Moses did using a robotic sander and 19 different types of sandpaper:

Stumbled onto reliable rural internet access

I got it as a secondary internet to our existing provider---between me, the wife and the kid all working for home, bandwidth can be at a premium. So far it is pretty good. I have notice a few hiccups. For example, if you have not been connected to the internet for awhile (for example we use...

    New telemarketing Gimmick

Once of the greatest features in the Apple 14.0 operating systems for phones is the ability to automatically silence calls from unknown contacts. You see the notification as the phone "rings" but the call goes to voice mail. I was getting 10-15 spam calls per day and this not only cut that...

    Post hole sizing

I have that exact same PHD and have both the 9 and 12 inch auger. I have used it to put maybe 20 - 25 posts over the last year For 4-6 inch posts, I almost exclusive use the 12 inch auger. Mainly, because I have yet to crack the secret to drilling a straight hole. I have watched about 1000...

May have gone a little too long before replacing the blades on the brush hog

Okay--so maybe I stretched it a bit. I bought the brush hog in 2009 when we got the tractor. The tractor has ~450 hours on it---probably 350-400 of those are brush hogging. I take the fifth over whether I had ever sharpened the blades. Since the last few times I used it, it more beat the...

    Project Creep

So we have a washroom in the barn. There is a washer & dryer, laundry sink, toilet and hot water heater. The facet on the laundry sink has developed a serious leak. So last night, I go to Home Depot to get some washer to repair the faucet. While there, I start thinking (always a problem)...

Looking for the collective wisdom. The cutting blades on the bush hog (Mohawk Brave 5) have lived a good life and it is now time for them to be replaced. Do I need to go OEM (Ag-Meirer) or do a generic aftermarket set?

Washed Limestone as top dressing for roadbase in Central Texas?

As almost everyone else here, I have a "dirt road"-i.e. graded with road base. I am doing spring road maintenance and using a new supplier for my base said that he can get me 1 1/2 wash limestone as a top dressing for the base. He says that it does a good job of protecting/prolonging the life...
