Anyone had the displeasure of changing the tranny oil yet? After about 2 hrs and 2.5 gals later, I finally got it! It takes time for the oil to fill all those small passages in the HST. What a pain!
While doing a PM on my Rhino rotary, I noticed the gear box contained grease. I was expecting to see heavy gear lube. Is this the norm for bush hogs? The grease was also about 1-2 inches below the check plug. Should I top it off?
It's is new with only about 10 hrs of use.
I'll soon need to do a filter change. Correct me if I'm wrong using this method.
Turn off fuel cock
Remove old filter from bowl
Clean fuel bowl if needed
Install new filter, leave bowl assembly loose
Turn on fuel cock and bleed air, tighten bowl after fuel escapes
How did I do?:confused...
My local dealer in Monroe, NC quoted me $349.00 for a sunshade. I thought that was a bit high! It must be fiberglass for that price!
BTW we broke a 130 year high temperature record of 80 today due to the jet stream(so they say).
Who's battery is the favorite for a "Tractor" application? Advance auto, Auto zone, napa, Interstate, Exide, and plenty others. Should I look for a commercial rating or will any suffice?
I'm looking to change the rears to R1's. Is there a preferred brand/ply rating? I believe currently I have R4 Titan's 8 ply. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Why no clutch on the DK40seHst? I would think a larger tractor could benefit having a clutch.(Traded up from a CK30Hst). I don't mind though, the range changes are much easier than the ck30hst. I do realize to make range changes and pto engagements at low rpm's. Also what is the orange painted...
Any thoughts on using a synthetic hydro oil in a moderate climate? (Pump life,quieter HST?) I could justify in an extremely cold climate, but are they any "true" advantages?
I just traded up to a DK40seHST from a CK30HST. Needed larger tractor with more power. Had issues with the CK30HST using 6' rotary, and dragging heavy logs from land I'm clearing. Haven't had a chance to put the DK40 in any heavy usage yet. I'm curious what to expect. I've found the DK40...
