It has some issues right now. This tractor has been well maintained and always garaged. Always did the scheduled maintenance. 1600 hours on it now. Only thing it has been used for is running a 6'RFM and a 5' bush hog. Plus some snow removal with the loader and post hole digger work.
Year...
Mainly the 5' rotary cutter and 6' RFM. The B7800 I have now is 4WD with a loader. I really don't need the loader anymore but would am considering a front mounted hydraulic snow plow. 4WD not a necessity.
My old B7800 is getting long in the tooth and I am considering a new Kubota. I think the B7800 was too small for what was asked of it. My thoughts is that I should have bought a 40HP tractor instead of a 30HP. Some considerations: I'm getting old and need a nice seat for my old back. Will be...
We see a lot of red foxes here. More red foxes than deer. A fox checking out my turkey decoy. The fox in the black flash is eating apples. And a deer that still has it's winter coat.
I have Aquiline Talons and only have 2" of fender to sidewall clearance. It can be done but it takes me a while to mount these chains every season. All the slop has to be worked out of the chain so it is tight on the tire. Also all loose ends must be tightly tucked against the tire and safety wired.
While mowing the yard this spring we found a road kill deer in the front yard. I drug it to the woods (downwind) and set up the game camera. Between the vultures and the coyote they reduced the deer to fur and bones in six days. The vultures did the majority of the work. I only got a couple of...
We got hammered here last winter. Worst winter since the blizzard of '78. A few nights of wind chills of -30. Luckily we did not lose power. Going into last winter I didn't think our setup would survive. We feared our horse waterer would freeze or the lines to the barn freeze. And we had a lot...
It had to happen sooner or later. My wife hauls her horse on long drives for trail riding. She stopped at a restaurant to get something to eat and her truck wouldn't start. She was over an hour from home. Two hour round trip.
So she calls our roadside assistance provider, who can't speak...
On the way to work every day I pass through some big acreage farm land. One is farmed by a mega-farm outfit. Some amazing equipment. Last week a John Deere pulling a disk pulled out on the road and it had three ag tires on each hub. I've seen a lot of duals but this was the first triple on each...
We have been mowing about 7 acres of yard with hundreds of trees with a tractor with a 72" RFM and a lawn tractor for over seven years now. Our decades old lawn tractor bit the dust last week. My first ever zero turn was delivered today and I mowed with it for about 2.5 hours. All I can say is...
Some like chains with a little slack in them. Some like them tight and tucked. I like them tight and tucked. Loose ends safety wired. These are Aquiline Talons with spring tensioners:
We'll see how this goes. I have 2.5" clearance between the inside wall of my tire and the fender. And 3.25" clearance between the tread on my tires and the fender.
There are two schools of thought when mounting chains. Some say they should have a reasonable amount of slack in them. Some say...
So we have a new horse boarder and she wants to go to round bales. I'm willing to give this a try. I have never fooled with round bales. For sure I would have to buy a spear. I don't even know how much a round bale weighs. Would my B7800 handle a round bale with a spear on the front loader or to...
