    New tractor Grease Question

The website "Bob is the oil guy" has tons of scientific data on oils and greases if you really want to geek out on it, but it's not really hyper critical for a CUT. Any grease rated EP (extreme pressure) will be fine for the loader joints. I use Schafer's 219 for my tractor loader, and Mystik...

    Rotary Cutter Keeping Outdoors

I think you're on the right track of storing it raised on blocks if storing it on dirt. Setting it on some blocks or a large skid would allow more airflow under it, to help keep condensation down. Makes it less appealing to critters looking for a home site too.

    HST Loose shifting levers

It has a little more play now than when I put the bolt in it a couple of years ago, but nothing like it had with the roll pin. It's not an ideal design; welding it solid did occur to me, but then you'd be in a real pickle if you ever actually needed it to come off for any reason.

Front-End Loader Best SSQA trailer mover attachment?

I did the 2" receiver tube welded to the center of the bucket like most folks do. You can buy a drop receiver if it's high for you hitch, or make your own custom length drop bar with some 2" box tube and a few minutes of welding. They make hooks, solid rings, winches, all kinds of fun stuff your...

Options for SSQA trailer mover (receiver hitch) ?

I just bought a 2" receiver tube at my local rural king and welded in onto the center of the top lip of the tractor bucket. Then just slide in any 2" receiver ball, hook, solid ring, winch, or whatever you want into it and slide the lock pin in. Cheap, simple, effective. They make a ton of...

    HST Loose shifting levers

I drilled mined out slightly and ditched the cheesy roll pin setup for a shoulder bolt with a nylok nut after the oem roll pin worked its way out the first time.

    Battery powered chainsaw

I've got a 40v Oregon chainsaw, pole saw, string trimmer, and leaf blower. No complaints. Good battery life on all of them. I'm usually wore out before the battery is on any of them. I just use the electric saw for casual trimming and storm cleanup type work. 4" and under is a good rule of thumb...

    ZD1211 Spindles and Grease

The spindles on my Ferris IS3200 are huge. I pump grease into them until it starts to come out around the upper seal underneath the pulley on the top side of the deck. Then run a rag underneath the pulley and "floss out" any excess. Don't want a big pile of grease under there migrating up onto...

    Ferris ISX800

26" tires make a HUGE difference in ride quality over smaller ones. I have the 36HP Vanguard Big Block on mine. They also have a newer 40HP Vanguard that has came out since I bought mine. Stay FAR away from the Delphi-injection Kawasaki engines. My Ferris dealer won't even special order you one...

    Ferris ISX800

I've been running a Ferris IS3200z with a 72" deck for several years. $$$, but much better build quality and materials than some of the "other" popular ZTRs running around. No problems yet. I did put a set of Maxxis Viper ATV tires on the back though. I hate turf tires.

Request to Kioti corporate for online owner's manuals!

Just a FYI for us Kioti owners: I sent an email to Kioti corporate this week through the customer service link on Kioti.com. I basically asked if it would be possible for them to link the owner's manual PDF files of all their tractors and equipment on their website for us customers. I bought...

    Everything Attachments

Achievement Unlocked! Wicked 60" Root Rake Grapple earns "Old Man" seal of approval! Got my 3rd function valve from MIE installed today. Hooked my new Wicked grapple onto the tractor, and headed behind the house to clean up some dead trees we had cut down. Judging from the 6 minutes I spent...

My mid-life crisis purchase was a tractor!

Greetings from Southeast Illinois! Wanted a small tractor for a couple of decades, decided it was time. Never owned a tractor in my life. Drove several as a younger man though. I purchased a new Kioti NX5510HST in August of this year, after spending the last couple of years researching them. I...
