To the forum from Northwest Alabama. From what I found, they were made by Yard Man Co from 1965 to 1970. Yard Man Co became MTD and that is where you will find any manuals if the are available.

I'm NO expert, but GILSON BROTHERS, (a very good manufacturer), was a major Montgomery Ward supplier of lawn and garden power equipment for long time.
I may have read that Gilson was purchased by Ariens many years ago, but don't quote me!

Yes, Gilson Brothers, WI, made tractors for Wards starting in 1970.

I believe Gilson is owned by Lawnboy. Or at least there is some relationship.
I bought it to resell its to small for me to use. I got it running all I did was put fuel in it. The only thing I found wrong with it was someone was rough on the shifter and I think they broke the ball off the end of it. I'm going to take it off and repair it and find it a new home. I think I have to many garden tractors already. I have a 10hp case 155, 2 Massey 16 and 3 Massey 8.
