I want to hear from operators who are using beet juice in their tractor tires.
I have locus thorns and mesquite thorns. I want a flat preventer for my tires. I also want to be able to run liquid ballast in my tires.
I thought beet juice was a flat stopper but all I read is it is for ballast. I saw it will stop small leaks.
Is it something I should seriously consider?

Beet juice or rimguard (same thing) is only for ballast. I ran something through the face of my r1 tire this summer and had beet juice running everywhere, man does that stuff have a unique odor! Do you have r4 or r1 tires? The only good thing I have heard about for thorns is foam filling tires but they ride rough, doesn't come cheap, and it's permanent when it's done. I don't even know if you can take a tire off the rim once it's filled.

I have had rim gaurd in my last couple tractors. I have never seen it stop any holes, not that i know of. I just had my rear tires filled on my jd4320 with r4 tires it was $375 for 55 gallons in each tire.

I have had my front tires foam filled on my last two tractors. I had problems with them going flat and it works great. Never had a problem since. It is not cheap my 4320 front tires cost me $388 to do and took 4 days to geet done. I guess it depends how much it it costing you to fix the flat tires and if the down time is costing you anything it might be worth the investment.

I have R1 tires and on a second tractor I have R4. One has water and the 2nd is dry. I have a third tractor that has lost of holes in the tires and goes flat if not used more than 4 weeks. That 3th tractor had a brown redish liquid come out of it and I thought that might be beet juice. What ever it is, it seems to be stopping the leaks, if the tires turn once in a while.

It's possible beat juice could help slow down a small pin hole leak. But it's not something I would count on for leak protection.

I have rim guard in my Kubota. I never heard of it being used for leak protection, but it is a thick, sticky substance. I suspect it would stop a small leak. I think it has a lot of small fibers in it also.

Yeah it would definitely have small fibers. It's beet juice with pulp.

My brother used it on all 4 tires of his Kubota L3240. Had to run a lot of air in the front tires to keep them seated on the rim. Tubeless tires. That stuff is nasty, but heavy. :)

We gave up on it after a few years because of foaming issues that could not be consistently resolved and the propensity for it to degrade brass valve stems & cores that are otherwise very durable. "Beet juice" also develops a distinct & undesirable odor over time. We now use a citrus based product that is working well.

I have rimguard in the rear tires. I'm sure it does not function as leak protection. Just ballast. Never heard of it degrading valve stems or cores. Had CaCl in my previous tractor and had to replace the cores annually.

I've never heard of a liquid "leak stop" for use in tractor tires. Maybe Green Slime???

It would cost too much to use slime unless you got a heck of a discount on a 55 gallon purchase. Now they say on the bottle it only lasts 2 years.
