I use those two quart fruit juice bottles to make and store goop for the Hummingbird feeders in the refrigerator. Week or so ago, I filled them and absentmindedly left the bottle outside on a shelf, open. There was only a small amount left, maybe a cup or so. Forgot all about it while using the second bottle of prepared goop. Few minutes ago I went to dump the old open one. Probably 50 yellow jackets floating and a couple of those bigger hornet type things.

That is the main reason that I quit drinking soda outside...set that can down for a second and a big surprise may await your next sip.

If it don't have a screw on lid I pour it in a screw on lid. Never swallowed one and don't want to either.

Last summer, I set out about 6 diet soda cans laced with boric acid. I never saw any yellow jackets or hornets after that.

I use soda can lids. No bugs, stays cold longer and the fizz stays longer.
