Anyone have a MechMaxx 3-pt stump grinder?

I do not, but I could buy a cheap one. What exactly are you referring to with the wedge points? I've watched every assembly video out there an people are able to just slip the shaft on. Thanks for the input.
there are 2 bolts, that clinch it to the shaft. there is a gap there small. take a chisel and hammer it in, your trying to pry it open, make sure the bolts are removed.

mine did not slide on, prolly took me about 10 minutes to get it on with the air tools.

unfortunately cheap air hammers don't work great. 2 people and sledge will prolly be the best bet, make sure to grease everything, once you get past a point it will slide on it

I have been looking at the MechMaxx stump grinders and was wondering if anyone had any additional reviews they would like to share?

New to the site... been reading/lurking on the site for some time now. Lots of great information. Recently I've started looking at the WG24 Stump grinder by MechMaxx. I've learned alot on the site... but was curious about one specific question which I was hoping I could get help with. My DK50SE is a 50hp.... the WG24 states it's rated for 15-45hp? Does anyone believe the extra 5hp would cause an issue? I know WM sells the larger 28 model but it also comes with a higher price. Thoughts?

LittleBill21 BTW-thanks for your review of the item...

With the slip clutch properly adjusted I don't think the extra 5 HP will be a problem. I would adjust the clutch to slip well before the tractor stalls.

The DK50SE is 49hp at the engine and the PTO is far less so you are good to go. The MechMaxx is rated for 45hp at the PTO so are well within that.

Kioti DK50SE Power
Engine (gross)49 hp
36.5 kW
PTO (claimed)37.5 hp (cab)
28.0 kW
35.5 hp (ROPS)
26.5 kW

Well, I can’t get the PTO shaft onto the grinder. I’ve taken a file and cleaned up the splines on the PTO shaft (basically took the paint off). I can’t see any defects , burrs etc. I finally got the shaft to go on about 1/2” , tapped it with a piece of wood and sledge. Nothing. It simply will not slide onto the male shaft of the grinder. I’ll call customer service tomorrow.
Did you ever get the PTO shaft onto the grinder? If so, what did you end up doing? I'm having the same problem.

I just got a thick blade (old) screw driver and drove it in spreading the gap slightly wider. Then just tapped it on with a dead blow hammer

Thanks. We ended up doing basically the same. Took bolts whole way out to get started. Hammered a regular chisel into each side as far as they would go without going into the hole where the shaft goes. Lined it up and wiggled and it started sliding. Then put bolts back in loose and hammered it down with dead blow. Slid right on.

I will give them credit, there is NO slop in the fitting. Lol

Hey y'all,

Anyone purchased one of these basic stump grinders from MechMaxx?

They look a LOT like the woodland mills WG24 (even use the same number, 24 in the product name) but are a whopping $700 cheaper when you factor in delivery. This is kind of the price difference I need mentally to help justifying a purchase. I onyl have a handful of stumps to get rid of (for now) but would be nice to help the neighbors here or there also.

There are a ton of positive reviews on the mechmaxx site, but they could easily be curating out anything negative, hard to judge. Hence I am asking everyone here.

On a side note, I totally get the struggle of managing time between researching stuff like this and keeping up with work. That’s why I found best nursing paper writing service super helpful when I had deadlines piling up. Just something to consider if you’re juggling too much at once! Anyway, would love to hear if anyone’s actually used the MechMaxx grinder—does it hold up?
Stump grinders can be a real game-changer if you’ve got land to clear, but picking the right one is tricky—especially when some models look nearly identical but come with a big price difference.
