Mule deer in a field, northern Nevada.....
View attachment 2187738
Hello @deserteagle71. I'm also in NNV. I was about to start my first thread; this one about recommendations for >8ft. fence construction to keep mule deer out of a 1ac. vineyard. Since you're local, I'll start here with asking you (and the others on this thread).

I know the old saw about "Cheap, Good, Fast...pick 2". So I don't need it fast. I do need it good and (relatively) inexpensive. T-posts? Wooden posts? My trial fence was chicken wire on bottom 4', wires every 1ft above that.

What questions am I not asking myself? Thanks!

A cheap fence will always be the most expensive over time. In my case, I can't afford my fence, so I'm doing it a little at a time. I buy my wood posts and get them set. Then I slowly buy all the T posts for a run and install them. Then I buy a roll or two of the most expensive 2x4 horse fence that they sell and install it. Eventually it all gets done, it just takes a long time to get there.

It's always amazing how the sunlight will show off colors that you normally don't see on birds. My turkeys have the most amazing colors, but only when the sun shines on them just right!!
