I work with a guy that dragged me out of the office a couple years ago to see a rainbow. He was amazed at it and then it started to become a double and he went nuts. WOW!!!!! I asked if he'd ever seen a rainbow before? He said only a couple and never a double. He was 62 at the time! I told him I see at least half a dozen rainbows every year since I was a baby. He didn't believe me. I whipped out my phone and went to the "Raibows" album... :ROFLMAO:

Here's a few. (click to enlarge)

He must have been a city dweller.

We give my wife different varieties of lilies every Mother's Day. She's got quite the variety in the flower beds. Some years, the rabbits munch off the flower heads before they bloom. So, she's been putting moth ball cans out in the spring and it seems to have helped.

Eastern Kingbird atop my white pine.

The Eastern Kingbird truly deserves its Latin name of Tyrannus tyrannus. On its breeding grounds, it can often be seen attacking and chasing much larger birds, such as Red-tailed Hawk and Great Blue Heron, that make the mistake of flying through its territory. This pugnacious tyrant flycatcher has even been known to knock larger birds off their perches, including much heavier, nest-marauding Blue Jays.

Thursday evening my area had a dry lightning storm come through, starting multiple wildfires. The fire in this photo, taken from my house but across the valley from me, actually started on the far side of the mountains on Thursday. Yesterday a powerful west wind drove the fire over the mountains and into the valley where I live - we had our own 4th of July fireworks show, provided by Mother Nature!

Yes, as of this morning the fire is contained.
