What kind of deer fencing did you install, and how high?

I have one of these:



22HP engine, 36" cut. It'll cut whatever it can get over. I took down a couple of acres of blackberries and small saplings. Supposed to be good for up to 3" diameter saplings and I took those with ease, IF it can push them over so the cutter can get to them. Problem I had was with harder trees that wouldn't bend. My other issue was that some of the blackberries would tangle like barbed wire across the front and prevent forward movement. Backing out and changing angle of attack solved that in most cases. What I liked was that there was nothing left. It would mulch them down to almost powder which decayed in a fairly short time.

Took my hills OK, but it does take a bit to moose it around. It'll give you a good workout for sure.

Home Depot used to sell it, but they're hard to find now. It was kind of pricey too.

My neighbor has about 15 of the other kind of goats. They eat pretty much all day every day, but he still has to mow since they can't keep up.

Round poles driven with 6' of Red Brand woven fence and two feet above the two cables... making 8' tall.

Deer are smart... there is one section left to do along the county road... so the deer come in from the county road now... but this last section is in the works.

Where I brush cut it is illegal to use a hand held gas powered brush cutter… only battery allowed.

Billy Goat and Yazoo on wheels are legal… and I have both.

Isn't CA about to outlaw all gas mowing equipment?

The only small engine that I will buy is Honda. If it has a Honda engine, it will start every year. If not, you will regret buying it in five years.

I wish I could show pictures of how my dwarf Nigerian goats have cleaned up my land. They eat everything under tree up to 4 feet. Its like a Park. It used to be impossible to see through the trees, now I can see hundreds of feet through the trees!!!!

They never really stand still. They walk and eat. Always moving. They get a little from the branches every day, and after a while, it's all clear and amazing looking!!!!

I used a couple of rented ones for a volunteer project. Rough ground and high thick brush. One had a pivoting deck, one did not. The pivoting deck was definitely better. I se that the DR Power has power steering. That would make life better.

There is a ban on purchase of equipment but some cities like mine take it a step farther and ban the outright use of equipment such as gas blowers and brush cutters.

Is the terrain to steep for an ATV? I have rented the DR walk behind machine in the past and mowed through my woods with it. I am young and strong but it was still a bit of work. my nephew bought a used ATV pull behind model. I have had to cut some small trees so I can get through some spots but I like the pull behind much more. My 4wd ATV handle is just fine and I have cleared some pretty step areas.
