You need to understand EVERYTHING that led up to her decision. This may even include her ancestral heritage, the weather, and occasionally the alignment of the planets.
We drive a lot of 800 mile trips. I'll ask her "do you want a burger" 5 miles before an exit. She'll get into a discussion of various possible hamburger chains, we'll miss the exit, she goes hungry.
I keep reminding her - If I ask a question that can be answered yes or no, just answer the darn question.

I just ask my wife for the Readers Digest condensed version if I don't have a lot of time. I giggle to myself as I listen to her struggle with the concept.

Sometimes I will ask mine a question and tell her up front all I want is a simple yes or no, if a dialog starts I simply say "I accept that as a no". After 50+ years I think, THINK, maybe she is finally figuring it out.

Maybe working with so many women has made me gun shy… or I have yet to reach the required level of maturity?

At one time among employees we had 16 women to every man.

I had “the talk” with him about what being married is like-especially the less desirable side. He pretty much ignored me and left for the gym.

He’s a fine young man, but very few young men are lucky enough to the “the talk” and thats sad because it’ll help them see what’s coming.

I love my wife very much, but you just can't allow a woman to tell you unabridged stories. Not if you're actually listening. You would lose your mind.

I don't like interrupting people, but with women, it's essential to my mental health.
