Cool Nature Photos

I started using Nixplay to display my favorite nature shots from hikes and trips. It’s cool seeing them pop up in the kitchen throughout the day, especially the ones where we caught wildlife up close. Uploading from my phone was super easy, and now the whole family gets to enjoy pics that used to just sit in a folder.

Had some visitors last night. Must have been a dozen or so.

That close-up of the butterfly wing reminded me of stained glass, crazy how nature pulls off those patterns. I've tried getting shots like that, but mine always end up a little blurry.
Sometimes you just need to back off a bit. Lenses have a minimum focus distance and will render a shot blurry if your to close.

Thanks, but I'm curious what makes you say they're Photoshopped. (I assure you they are not.)

I had gotten your post mixed up with one after it (3horse), in that it said photo edited/shopped. Sorry just a misplaced statement on your post.

Love the detail in the photo. One day I hope to get good enough for the finer details to shine through.

Maybe he means post processed, which every single photographer in the world does.
99.999% of the time the only thing I alter is the file name.

I suppose I do crop some stuff now and then, but that's what scissors are for.

I treat the digital stuff the same as I did film.... I get what I got by choosing the correct settings, not correcting the mistakes.

Funny thing is, I worked at a newspaper for a loooong time. Before digital, about all they could do was a little lightening or darkening in the darkroom. Once we could scan film photos into the system, we could digitally manipulate it for better appearance on the press. For example, bad Obit photos that people would send in. Closeup of a white guy in a snowstorm just won't print well. We had a program that could account for about 7 different skin tones and separate peoples' faces out from the background really well.

I also had a few visitors last evening. A doe and fawn were also there but not in view. The bucks were hogging all of the apples. I only have them on one small tree which I shake once a day to drop them as they are getting black spots. I have a couple of pear trees which are dropping fruit. The deer will sample but not devour the pears.
