Just saw a pop up ad for an Altoz mower. If the tracks limit the sliding associated with a ZTR, this company may be onto something?

I have a lot of slopes on my property that will take your breath away. I have thought about trying those lugged tires like Dixie Chopper used on my Scag.

They’ve been around for a while now. I didn’t have any dealers with any inventory within 200 miles of my location so I had to pass on their product when I was shopping for a good hillside mower for my property.

I ended up purchasing a Cub Cadet Pro Z 560S KW commercial ZTR with 4-wheel steering and never looked back.

Yes I'm sure that has a benefit if you're on hilly/wet areas, but it's not for me. My place is flat and I tear up the turf enough, doing the "zero turn"s with wheels.

My son runs 2 where he works. He says they are beasts!

You do have to turn a little more careful with the tracks, but they actually put down less ground pressure than wheels so you can mow when the subsoil is "wetter" (hope that makes sense).

Just as a sidebar; Make sure your tires are inflated to MIP (Maximum Inflation Pressure). My Bad Boy was doing the same thing and discovered the tires were low. Inflating them helped tremendously. You can still tear up grass if you're too aggressive in the turns. Reversing the inside wheel instead of stopping helps.
