What is some of your Pet Peeve's

I have no problem with anyone wanting to have and practice their own flavor of religion or the lack there of. More power to them if that is what gets them through life. But I draw the line in the sand when they attempt to cram their religious beliefs down my throat and utilize fear mongering techniques to try and sway you over to their way of thinking. All joking aside, your religion should remain private between you and your god. Nuff said.

And that goes for politics too. Not much patience for those who think their way is the only way.

Of course they existed. But the practice of making them the primary front-line of patient interaction was increased orders of magnitude by the financial constraints ushered in by the ACA. Talking with several physicians about this, it's not that your doctor doesn't want to see you personally (in fact, they do!), it's that they no longer can afford to see every patient themselves.

A specialist I see occasionally has a PA that's incredibly good looking. And she is very good at her job. Needless to say I have zero problem with her seeing me at the appointment.

No door to door anything and hardly a delivery person either at our place. Propane delivery is about the only thing that comes to our place. That's a positive thing about being the last house on a dead end private drive that isn't visible from other properties.

We did have one Jehovah's Witness visit but that was because my neighbor thought it would be funny to send them back to us 25 years ago.

Same here but add the septic sucker. When we built and were going to get started with the excavation I called all 3 sources about concrete delivery and no one would send a truck here. We are off grid and well past the 'last mile' and the final leg is 1.5 miles of steep, rough logging trail. It's 4wd year round and no USPS, UPS/FedEx or pizza deliveries here . No JW either. We love it. We have a physical address that was assigned by the Assessor (go figure) but because it is not USPS recognized we have had to use the legal description for insurance, etc. Google Maps doesn't show the last half of the trail. WE LOVE IT!

Oh, and the footings and foundation? Three mixers running continuously, two wheelbarrows, pallets and pallets of concrete blocks and cement and the blocks were filled. All done by hand with 5 guys. 15 years and not a single crack anywhere.

Glad you like it, but that sounds like it's (quite) a bit further "out there" than I'd want to live. I think that "road" would get old real fast.

Nope. No inconvenience for us, anyway. It does tack on 15 minutes each way to go that 1.75 miles of logging trail. And it mostly keeps snoopers and 'cruisers' away. Not long ago a small parcel was put on the market pointing off from a 'Y' with the RE broker's sign and pointer. Ever since then there is a fresh trail of plastic pieces from city cars trying to make their way along the trail. It's hilarious to me that they pass those trees at the bottom that have plastic pieces nailed up with a sign that says 4WD ONLY PLEASE ENGAGE 4WD. But, nope, they just plow ahead. There's only a few places to turn around and once started they're committed. Winter time is even crazier as someone sees tire tracks so they can make it too. We chain all 4 wheels when the snow is deeper than 5". That snow mostly covers up the embedded boulders and drainage laterals and the places they'll get high centered. It's not a county road so there is no maintenance.

The pet peeve? They end up abandoning the vehicle, blocking the road, to try to find a cell signal (and they won't find one). Heck, how are they even going to give directions for a tow truck? There's only that logging trail in and out.

Same here. The PA's are usually younger and cuter. But here's the thing... a good doctor will pick up on clues that may point toward a serious or even life-threatening illness, which a PA just going through the mechanics is likely to miss. My father died from Lukemia that was initially mis-diagnosed as everything from hay fever to a sinus infection... until it was far too late.

So, when you're lying there dying of complications from some malignant tumor who's non-textbook presentation was misinterpreted or completely missed by the PA, I'm not sure you'll care how cute she was!

I went in for blood pressure related issues, and was more or less dismissed. Tick bite, ring around the posey type, same thing. Pain in my side, like, an appendix, pain, in, my, side --- same thing. I've gotten more attentive care, more thorough explanations, and ,more lengthy follow up with PA's. The appendix was real, only after I came back again, and talked to a PA. Surgery was scheduled, ASAP, that day. Brother-in-law was an orthopedic surgeon. Once he retired about 10 yrs ago, he became a completely different person. Huh, he became human. Like, with real human traits, empathy, feelings, genuine. I can only imagine the stress. An encyclopedic memory combined with high intensity work 1000 times over, and on the hook for all of them, must be a btch.

Who plows the snow off the road? If it's not a county road, who owns it?
