You Know You Are Old When

I mention this to my siblings. When my parents ran the greenhouse, a few aunts and uncles would help out durong the busy Memorial Day season. Between customers they would compare notes about what meds the Doctors had them on.

We really have become our parents.
YKYO when you know how well the meds work and the possible side effects better than your so called doctor.

When your idea of a vacation is just sitting in the garden doing nothing. You really notice the little things that remind you of getting older. Sometimes I catch myself comparing my generation to the younger crowd on silver singles or other dating apps, and it’s funny how different life feels now. The aches and early mornings aren’t the worst part—it’s the constant reminders that tech and trends move faster than you can keep up. Still, there’s something nice about the perspective and patience you gain with age.

Someone posted a meme in the Groan thread last year, that all of their teenage punishments are now things they desire:

1. Stay home, no parties
2. Go to bed early
3. Loss of telephone privelidges

There were others...

When I'm not on vacation at the lake in the Adirondack Mountains, I have zero desire to leave my property and deal with people!

Back in the 70s/early 80s when I was a field service tech, I remember seeing a drive-thru liquor store in Ohio. Thought it was really weird, and took a picture of it because I figured no one at home would believe it.
Turns out, it was (maybe even still is) fairly common in the midwest.

Liquor laws in general are weird.
There are many drive thru liquor stores in the town I live in. They don't hand it to you open though.

With legalized gambling in many gas stations and stand-alone gambling joints, they are required to sell alcohol and let you drink while you gamble. Illinois
