YKYO, if you remember the only time you saw a microwave oven was at a restaurant!!!
That would be old! My grandfather’s first job as a kid or teen was delivering milk by horse and wagon, and he said the mode was already outdated by then, in more populated towns. He was born in 1915.YKYO if you remember ice and milk delivered by horse and wagon.

I have to laugh. I don't think I'm that old yet, but my dad's oldest brother was born in 1909.That would be old! My grandfather’s first job as a kid or teen was delivering milk by horse and wagon, and he said the mode was already outdated by then, in more populated towns. He was born in 1915.
National/international news is easy to find on line, local/regional news not so much. There still are papers here...town just across the state line in Vt. still has a daily paper which does an OK job covering local stories plus a couple freebie weeklies. Most of our local papers started going online about 20 years ago, and by 10 years ago many stopped printing paper copy. I’m surprised any still print, other than the biggies.
I assume Wall Street Journal and Philadelphia Inquirer still make paper copy, but I haven’t bothered to look in maybe close to 20 years.
The online subscription model is a tough sell, when so much news is available for free.
Coupons? Wow, I never see them anymore other than the Subway ones that come in the mail (along with supermarket flyers) once a month or so. Once upon a time the Sunday papers were full of them.Slowly, the newspaper business is killing itself and I can understand why. That said, will still try to pick up the Wednesday paper because that's coupon day![]()
Our milk was always hand delivered to the house, milk pail or glass jars. Carried from the barn to the house.YKYO if you remember ice and milk delivered by horse and wagon.
Our milk was also delivered back in the 50's. He came in a Divco truck. In the 60's we got milk right from the local farm.I do remember every store that sold appliances demonstrating microwaves with bacon... I never had so much bacon in my life!
We had milk delivered, but it was a 1950's GMC (?) van / truck.
