Agrishield sickle bar mower

I have a KUBOTA MX6000 with 3 rear remotes as well as a 3rd function for my grapple. I am wanting to get an Agrishield FEL sickle bar mower. I believe I need a remote with a detent to stay open to operate the mower. Or can I just use one of my remotes that returns to center and tie it open while using? Anyone here running one of these mowers and can provide insight? TIA Laurence

You should be able to just hold one of the remotes open to run the sickle. The 3-5 GPM flow should not be an issue. If I remember right you might have issues with the MX6000 being able to use the loader and the sickle at the same time if plumbed to the 3rd function. The lines are small going to the 3rd function so I would not go with the 8-11 GPM flow rate ProCut 29HD.

When plumbing it up you might want to put a pressure relief / bypass in the hydraulic lines to allow the hydraulic motor to spool down, Agrishield should be able to advise on that.

Sportsman 762 Thank You for your reply. In speaking with Agrishield he advised I go with the ProCut 21 rather than the 29 due to hydraulic flow rate issues (as you stated). He also said I would be better off using the 3rd function to change the cutter from vertical to horizontal and use the rear remote(s) for the operation of the sickle bar. I will need to tether the rear remote to stay open to run the sickle bar. I recon I’ll find out when it arrives as I did order it today. Again, Thank You for your reply.

A piece of wood that is formed to fit the slot of the rear remote makes it easy to hold a valve open and is cheap to make.
