This was in a white pine near house just now. I haven't seen one in many, many years.

I have flying squirrels in my backyard. If we are really quiet while sitting on the porch at night, they will come down to the bird feeders. They are tiny, fast and very cautious!!!

Osprey vs Catfish

I apologize for the horrible quality. They were a quarter mile away on the other side of the river. I'm this case is about the story, not the photo quality.

That fish was right at the limit of what the bird could carry. It took him 100yds to get it out of the river and another mile or so headed up river to gain enough altitude to get into a tree. Several times along the way the Osprey lost altitude and almost ended up back in the drink.

Not a catfish, it's a carp, but fantastic photos! Nice work!

Lot of really nice photos here. I started getting into photography, but the birth of my son was a big distraction.

I have learned that if you can't get out and find spectacular subjects, you can make up for it by photographing very small things you can find almost anywhere.

I rescued a snake I found swimming in my pool, and I took a shot while he was too exhausted to run. I also got a very nice shot of a tiny weed blossom less than half an inch across. I should get back to this.

Went fishing for bull reds yesterday. Nephew caught one 38" ole boy.

I gotta get him a Tee shirt "Even though I was violated by this redfish, it was still a good day of fishing"...

Any other catchy bylines?

And for the record I'm thinking he's gonna have a boy...
