Everyone should have a waterfall. I want a waterfall!!!!

I'm gonna build one next summer. Granted, it'll only be about 10" high.

Not a place most people associate with waterfalls...but the Nevada mountains have plenty:

Seems like those folks lost in the desert in every other old western seem to find one just in the nick of time.

This deer we have named Socks visited our bird bath with her fawn last evening. We have not had rain in a month and the deer drink our bird bath dry a couple of time per day now.

Edit: I need to just install a watering trough out there....

We lost several of the does we had at our feeder to EHD in the last few weeks. I miss seeing them and my dog, who thought they were friends, does also.

That's sad, we have lots of deer here everyday and I think if anything like that hit here it would spread quickly.
We don't feed deer to keep them moving around and try to stop them from congregating , but it's a lost cause with so many.

It's become an epidemic here. The only hope to stop it is a good frost to kill the midge off that spreads it. We see pictures of 170 class bucks dead from it weekly.

Wife and I went on a canoe ride this weekend. Small river in northeast Indiana. In 4 miles we saw 2 dead does floating in the water and smelled another dead critter, too.

Had a Double-crested Cormorant visit the pond yesterday. They are not skittish like ducks so I was able to get a bit closer.

I finally caught a photo of the juvenile rose breasted gross beak at our feeder. They've been here lots!
