My farm pro 2420 has no power

I had one of those with the two cylinder ty290 engine. What do you mean no power ? Throttle running power or electrical ? Both are problematic on these. The fuel inlet is a screen in the bottom of the tank and is known to get "bugs" in it which will restrict engine power. Take the fuel inlet off and clean the glass bowl and then blow into the tank with pressurized air to clean the screen temporarily. Drain the tank of it's junk Diesel and junk in the tank.

If electrical with no power then check the fuses. The wiring is known to be sub par. Check for voltages at the fuses using the wiring diagram.

It has to be the electric I don't have the wiring diagram no manual or anything don't know how to check fluids or nothing would appreciate any help you could provide

Check for good fuel flow from tank to injection pump. Check to be sure fuel tank vent isn't clogged. Has fuel filter been changed recently?

Try the stuff I mentioned for the electrical. Give us some more details and maybe others will chime in on it all too.

My Sister has a FarmPro 2420, that will not start and run, she doesn't know year etc, it does have a Y290 engine by stamp tag. She has been thru a few diffrent husbands, and one way or another they have all messed with it. It was apparently loaned out to one of her neibors, and somehow they managed to get the wiring harness yanked apart, so it needs harness repaired/replaced. I have found various manuals for this tractor, none of them give any kind of Color or Amp type info on the schematics i've seen so far. I'm sure i can figure it out, i'm reasonably sure about that.
It has a small awg wire currently going to the glow plugs TY290 Engine, have not measured, assume probably 18 gauge. from searching, i found on google images for jinma one of the images shows that glow plugs use a common 30amp wire, which would be 10 awg. so i'm sure thats part of reason it wont start/run. current hubby, told me he sprayed starter fluid in it and it would run as long as he kept fogging it with starter fluid. which leaves me to believe it has a fuel injection problem also, so i guess i'm looking at a basket case, i live at least 3 hours from her, and told her there is NO WAY i can fix this thing in any real timely manner. And suggested that they load it up on there trailer and bring it to me, which hasn't happened yet.
can anyone tell me length of the glow plug is supposed to be on the ty290 ? she showed me a picture of the 2 they pulled out, and the ones i had them order were probably at least an inch longer. my new brother-in-law is blowing smoke up my tail trying to tell me he cant find the new glow plugs and it has the old ones in it, the glow plugs i had him get are from.

I'm not stupid, i can tell he put the new ones in it, and probably didn't even try to figure out / check to make sure they were in fact NOT too long. So it may have NEW HOLES in pistons for all i know. anyways he says he cant find the new black looking glow plugs from (sister previous photo she texted me) which are the old shorter carbon buildup old glow plugs, that someone previously installed that are/were too short ...

she would like for me to get it running so she can sell it. she told me she had it sold on facebook for $5k with some attachment, brush hog or something i don't remember, anyway she couldn't sell it because it wouldn't start. Sooooo here i am, trying to do some insight into this Train Wreak

Sorry Steve, for replying to your post, with this long winded ramble, I'm sure what you said about checking tank filter, etc... is in my future also, wont know for sure until they deliver tractor here.

Yep, good luck with it. Affordable can give you some help on it as that's who I'd call on mine. His parts service was great too. I'd order on a Monday and have the parts by Friday and installed on a Saturday in time to use it again. The glow plugs are triggered by the keyswitch. There is no timer on them. And on the Ty290 engine you don't even really need glow plugs. That thing started easily without it usually. But, to activate the glow plugs you turned the keyswitch to the left and it would manual make the glow plugs activated. Simple design these things were/are. Ours is long gone now.
