Good deal, better than the one I got at Sam's for a 10/8kw.
Seems too good to be true. Has anyone actually run one of these for a bunch of hours? For $500 it's an amazing deal, but then again, if it craps out or isn't dependable, that's a waste of $500. Many things can go wrong on a generator and potentially kill appliances/electronics running off it if the power coming out isn't clean, phased right, and proper voltage.
Yea, I almost bought one but I've got 1KW, 6Kw, this 10Kw and 12Kw generators already. They only allowed 1 per customer. I ordered one and don't even need it.![]()

If you read my post I put a link in. Lots of posts about the hour meters, welding with it. These have been running well for TBN'ers for years.Precisely correct!
The price may be cheap, and the dual fuel rating is great.
That said: Will it run when you REALLY NEED it?
Will the output be accurate/stable for your usage?
I bought a 6500W Honda 30 years ago.
It was pricey then too ($2000).
Here we are 30 years later, it still runs like a Swiss watch, and with perfectly stable output.
I bought one when they were on sale for $650 delivered. Longest I've ran mine was 3 days straight, 98% of the time on propane. No problems at all. Mostly left it on auto-throttle. Used a lot less fuel than I expected.
I'm really looking for a 10Kw diesel to "round out" my fleet.
Keep an eye out on the Military surplus auction sites. I purchased a MEP-803A last year and couldn't be happier with it. Prices have gone bonkers this year with all the disasters but maybe they will settle down. I've seen sale prices as high as you could buy a modern brand new diesel generator but I got mine for $1185 after fees. By the time I built a load bank to test and exercise and had it hooked to the house I was right at 2 grand all in.
Curious if they still would have had to honor that price even if they knew they screwed up? Bet somebody was P'ed off.It looks like someone made a mistake advertising it for $499. They forgot the 1 in front of the 499.
Once their phone started ringing off the wall they quickly changed the ad to $1499.
I suspect they lost money on you lucky guys that were able to buy one.
