How do you know Spring is just around the corner, or here already?

I'm beginning to wonder if I spoke too early. Monday night into Tues morning - eight inches of fresh snow. California may have reason to complain about "too much". Here - we can use every bit we get.

Beaver dam? Tannerite? Hold my beer!

About 8 or 10 years ago I noticed the lake had dropped about a foot . I will post a pic here so you can see how I can tell. Anyhow - I made a trip down to the outlet and noticed the center 8 feet of the beaver dam had been torn out. It's a rather low dam - 2 to 3 feet high. Must have...

    Woodland Mills WC68 vs WC88?

This was my thinking when I upgraded my tractor - Ford 1700, 4WD, 26hp to Kubota M6040, 4WD, 64hp. I had a Wallenstein BX42S. Capable of up to 4" material. I could have gone with their BX107S - up to 10" material. Then I looked at the BX62S. Same size chipping wheel as the 107 - 200#...

Beaver dam? Tannerite? Hold my beer!

The water level on my ten acre lake is controlled by a very nice beaver dam at the outlet. Over the period of one year - the water level will vary only 8" to 10" because of the efforts of this beaver family. This is one case, at least, where their efforts are appreciated. So often - they are...

    Woodland Mills WC68 vs WC88?

No - no price listed outright on any web site. With all the "goodies" I would guess - - near $22K to $24K. There is a reason such a HD chipper is listed for a 35hp tractor. - 600 pound chipping wheel - in-feed sensor. It stops the in-feed roller when it senses a drop in the chipping wheel...

Beaver dam? Tannerite? Hold my beer!

    Woodland Mills WC68 vs WC88?

I've only had Wallenstein. 4" BX42S and now 6" BX62S. There are definite advantages with the larger BX62S. Larger opening into the chipping chamber = very few limbs need to be pruned - heavier flywheel = more inertia - higher airflow = no chute plugging & chips get thrown further away. I...

Bare metal epoxy primer for truck frame

The Taco Wagon frame was primed with some type of acid etching undercoating. Then it was finished off with a double coating of Line-X undercoating. The frame was not sprayed - it was dipped in a tank of the Line-X. For that matter - the entire underside of the Taco Wagon is sprayed with 2X...

A sad day on the farm

I feel your pain and anxiety. The loss is great, overwhelming but you are still alive and in good health. Fire is my one great fear out here. I know, for a fact, how long it will take the fire department to get here. For this single reason - I have complete insurance coverage.

Need help from a pour pro

Hold the can like the picture Gee Ray shows in post #2. Then a small funnel on the tank you want to fill. Tip and pour into the funnel. I've done it this way - countless times - never spilled a drop. The ONE time a friend goosed me doesn't count either.
