    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

I am at a complete loss as to how the small shaft parts go in and out of the large hollow shaft. I have just been assuming that it will be evident once I actually see it.

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

At first I thought that the large shaft seal holder was bolted to the front end of the trans, but after looking again, I think it is bolted to a wall actually inside the trans. I was really hoping to not have to take the top off the trans (containing the shift levers), although I guessed that I...

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

Yes, I will have to remove the bell housing and spacer. The seals are number 13 in the top diagram and number 26 in the lower diagram. I have just finished scanning in the parts list.

    Found my scanner.

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

I will definitely have to remove the next two pieces of the case, but don't expect to make it back to the tractor today. I may be able to get the exploded view scanned. I have some old computers that should work with my old scanner, or I can scan to flash drive if I can locate that scanner.

Here are pictures of the case. I had to make two separate pics, but if you will notice the reference numbers 2, 1, 11, and 14 in both pictures, I think it is obvious how they correspond.

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

I found an old scanner and got the pictures (belatedly). I will try for the expanded view, but that will be more difficult (using trial version software, proper driver not available for Windows).

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

I'm afraid you are right, but have not looked that far ahead yet. Right now the rear end is supported by jack stands under the front end loader crossmember, which is bolted to the extended portion of the bell housing (if I remember correctly). You are definitely seeing the problems before I...

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

I realize how helpful pictures would be, but I no longer have a scanner, and would not know how to get pictures from my phone to my computer. I have considered checking at the library for a scanner, or digging mine out from where I put it 20 years ago. I have never taken a picture with my...

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

Thank you for your interest. Just as I was almost ready to give up on the first approach, it broke loose, and the bushing, and the shaft and fork are now out. I have no idea what I will get into next. The concern in the back of my mind is whether I will be able to find replacement seals once...

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

Sorry, I was responding to the first question, and forgot about the second. Yes, it is the transmission input shaft (or shafts) that is leaking. The tractor has two shafts coming from the motor, one inside the other. I assume one is to drive the tractor, and one for the PTO, but I don't know.

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

I see two difficult options to try if I do not get a better suggestion. The first is to find a bushing of the correct size (about 1 inch), cut it in half, and put the half (or halves if I can) around the shaft, between the fork and the bushing, then use my port-a-power between the shaft and the...

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

The clutch release yoke is not intended to be removed from the shaft, which does not mean it cannot be done. It is secured with two pins of some type, which would have to be drilled out. The narrow part of the bell housing is a difficult place to work, and I don't like to second-guess the...

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

The manuals do not directly address the replacement of the oil seals. "seals", because there are two shafts, one inside the other.

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

I have the manuals, which help, but in this case it says "take out the clutch shifter metal", which is actually a bushing in the case, with the shaft going through it, and into a hole in the case on the opposite side. The shaft cannot be removed first because the clutch release yoke is attached...

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

Hydraulic fluid was coming from the joint between the motor and the bell housing. I inquired at my local tractor dealership about repair. The owner gave two estimates because he said "while we are in there, we will check the clutch". He mentioned that the clutch plates might be saturated. I...

    Satoh S750D Stallion hydraulic leak

Recently acquired my first tractor, a Satoh Stallion, with a hydraulic oil leak. Split the tractor, removed the clutch, and the clutch release bearing (throwout bearing) with carrier, and hit a brick wall. I assume I now have to remove the clutch release yoke and shaft so I can remove the...
