JD is in original seat, from 1986. Avery has a metal seat, and is original. Of course, they do get to sit under shade trees. It would brand my behind if I set them in the sun, and tried to ride them then, here in Texas. I'll look into the carport for this summer. I live in a very high wind...

We should have lows in the 60s and highs in the 80s here, in April. Just a strange, (and unwelcome) year.

By then, we'd better have our harvest coming in, or it will burn up before it can ripen. I plant corn, Feb.14, and everything else the third week of March, and have for YEARS, without much of a hiccup. This year's weather is the pits! And yes, I expect many of us will be covering plants again...

Yes, chainsaws rock! I need to get a new chain for mine though. Was taking down some large limbs overhanging the barn, before Thunderstorm season hit, and broke the chain with the last one. Just been too busy with other projects to get to that too. Maybe in the next week or two.....

Thanks, Roy! I have the garden area fenced off from wildlife, such as deer, etc. Can't get the tractor in there. Besides, gardening by hand is good for the mind, soul and waistline!

Well, I wasn't singing, but was hoeing to the beat of the music. I was keeping that activity sustained for an hour at a time, then came in to rehydrate, and back out again. Bet it was as good as jogging for an hour! I have a good sized garden, and it was pretty overgorwn in a lot of areas...

OK, so the JD 1050 has gone for 27 years, without an issue, other than oil changes, etc. Now, it has surprised me with a leak around the air bleed screws of the fuel finlter housing. Manual says, it may be necessary at some point to repair this, so not unexpected, given its age. Problem is...

And for those of you that got rain yesterday, :p I just came in from topping water troughs and watering the garden. I will soon be dragging in whatever isn't planted, and trying to cover as much as I can, that is. Did I mention I HATE winter?!?! I am so ready for it to be gone, FOR GOOD.

I am new to TBN. I have a 1985 Johne Deere 1050, and a 1936 Avery. The Avery was the first piece of mechanical farm equipment that came onto my dad's farm, when he was a boy! I keep it for sentimental reasons, but am sure someone will think it scrap metal, when I am no longer around to love...
