I have a Century 2028 and it seems to be a great little tractor. It is marked on the tach "PTO 540rpm 1st"....which I assumed meant....only run in 1st gear while running the PTO? I have bushhogged and finish mowed about 10 acres total with this tractor and it's ground speed is painfully slow...

I called a local dealer to get an idea of the cost on a FEL for my Century 2028 and got quoted $4500 for "off-brand" and $5250 for a Branson!!! Am I missing something or is that the going rate for them? I bought the tractor and finish mower for $5000!

I'm hoping someone can confirm that I got a good deal on a 2003 Century 2028. It has 218 hours, has been garage kept and was used to mow a 6 acre yard. It came with a like new 5 ft finish mower and is super clean. You might mistake it for new if it didn't have a few scratches on it...
