I think the key for finish work is a fine tooth blade. My 6.5” Ridgid cordless cuts good with a 60 tooth finish blade however, your results may vary.

I took my TC45DA radiator as it had some seepage on the radiator tanks. We the pulled the tanks off some of the radiator tubes were plugged. He did have to solder one tube off. I wasn’t having major cooling issues considering I pull a 9.5’ bushhog with it, but the cleaned radiator works great.

We solved this problem by putting up a new metal building. It has the double bubble insulation between the metal frame and the metal sheeting walls and roof. It doesn’t have any condensation issues. However, it doesn’t have enough insulation to keep it cool during South Carolina summers. 😒 I...

If you already have battery powered tools I’d suggest seeing if that brand and voltage has one rather than getting something else. I’m looking at getting the Ridgid one to match all my other battery tools.

The charts / mowing calculators I’ve found to include the above picture are all pretty accurate. I wouldn’t say they have to 100%, but they provide a planning factor. One thing I have learned to speed up mowing times is mowing in a circle starting at the center of the field.

Can you post a picture of the rotor where the knives attach? What little bit of it shown makes the spacing of the knives look like the non fine cut version. I have not seen very many pull type that size to cool. 😎

When I did it the tractor was running and made a mess.

On my IH 424 I always have to crack the output on the hydraulic pump in order to get it to pull hydraulic oil into and out of the pump due to air lock. The filling of the pump prior to installation is a good idea and using a shop vacuum to suck oil into the pump may work too.

It weighs more than my TC45 DA. The way I was loaded in the pictures I posted earlier here my total weight is 16,440 lbs (gross) and the tractor as shown with the flail mower scales at 6,520 lbs. I wouldn’t want less than a 10k trailer and that leaves you very little extra capacity.

I want to weld some skids on my 55 gallon drum for diesel fuel. The skids would allow me to put a drain in the bottom so the drain, pipe and valve wouldn’t get damaged. However, if I weld on the bottom rim will it leak afterwards?

I was pulling a 9.5’ Woods C114 bushhog before and after the line plugged up and I cut at least five acres after that and it maintained that level of fuel in the filter that entire time. I don’t think it needs bleeding based on how it ran afterwards which was the same as before the incident.

Today my TC45DA quit like it was out of fuel. I pulled the line from the tank off the filter and nothing run out. I used a compressor at the fuel cap and tried to get fuel to flow wi no luck. Then I blew from the line I took off the filter back to the tank and that got fuel flowing. So I must...

It’s not just the glass as the top of the cab gets damaged often too and requires replacing it. My neighbor hit his on a a tree limb and it was like a $9k repair bill good thing for insurance he said. I have also seen doors damaged too.

When Ram HD 2500/3500 were somewhat redesigned in 2019 the ZF8 speed has been in HD gas trucks and is great IMHO. I really like my ZF eight speed!

On my TC45DA the three point lever was really stiff and it made it hard to move smoothly. There is a castle nut where the shaft goes into the case and loosened it and it helped.

First, I would take it off the SSQA and set it on you concrete floor and determine if your fork or your SSQA is bent. I know in my case my SSQA is bent.

It all depends on the options ordered on the truck. GM had the gov-loc for years it was kinda weak in the 10 bolt axle but in the 14 bolt it was pretty good.

Sounds like I need to just get a double acting cylinder. I would want to raise and lower the mower as I cut pastures when I get to tall spots that start to pull down the tractor's rpms and then lower it again while still cutting at speed (say 3.5 mph).

The use case is I am wanting to build a hydraulic driven string trimer to time the weeds and grass growing under my fencing, so it will be powering something like a 22" to 36" push lawn mower. My TC45DA has 10 GPM of hydraulic flow.

If I want to run a hydraulic motor off my rear remote valve/coupler, do I need more than just the two lines? In other words, do I also need a tank return, so when turn the rear remote valve/coupler off it doesn't just slam to a stop? If I do how is it plumbed?

I wish my 18’ trailer (16’ flat plus 2’ of dovetail) was longer as there’s little room to really adjust the placement .

I would go longer on the trailer since towing with a 1500 as it will be easier to get the balance right. A 10k trailer would work well. I would not tow it with a 7k for that far as it will be hard on the bearings.

I’m in SC and have had straight water in the tires on both my tractors and the one I’ve had since 2009.

I have run my TC45DA with the new hose several times now with no leakage. One other thing I did is I replace the spring clamp with a worm drive hose clamp on the hose coming down out of the power steering reservoir and that stop another drip on to a fuel injector line.

I had a gas can carrier I made on the back my truck and the two 5 gal cans made to Alaska from MO.

Its a dry clutch if it slips in reverse it will slip in in forward too.

Well I found the flasher on the opposite side of the tractor. Here’s a picture of the fuse box too. The flasher appears to be an electronic too which is good.

Looks like my tractor must have it in a different location than the service manual shows. My TC45DA is a very late build, so it may have changed as they were changing over to the next series.

It’s replacing the 5.7 hemi in the 1/2 ton (1500 series) trucks and the v8s in SUVs. Ram is keeping the 6.4 hemi in the 2500/3500/4500/5500 series trucks .

Castle nut I pulled the cotter pin from the rear and loosened the castle nut a bit maybe one or two slots and now mine moved freely. With yours being stuck you might have to pull the linkage apart and lube it and loosen the castle nut.

Serpentine Belt Tensioner

I use my flail mower and it works too.

I’m interested in trying to adapt an automotive serpentine belt tensioner to my Ford 917, so that maybe an option for you.

It’s a 1980 Scout II with the Nissan SD33TD which is what it came with, but now it has an air force tug SD33 now.

I’m not sure it’s BSPT as my 3/4” NPT worked to clear/clean the threads and I turned it with my fingers without a wrench. However, the BSPT 3/4” adapter to 1/2” female pipe threaded in just fine too.

I’ve seen places where they planted right over freshly mulched areas and the grass came up fine and looks great. We have used mulch as it was free from our county at the time and grass grows fine on it.

My 2020 Ram 2500 CC CB with the gas 6.4 engine tips the scale empty at 7420 pounds, but I can gross 10K on the truck, so a 16K trailer puts me near or over the 26K limit. Your 3500HD has a much higher payload, so you are going to be over the 26K limit.

I would think about being under the 26K pound number for the gross combined weight of the truck and trailer unless you have a CDL.

I think HP rules are generalizations and very dependent on what your local soil conditions are vs what another person may say.

I have laid plywood down to wheel a hand truck up and down from my trailer.

Since the 70s I went from a 78 Ford single cab long bed to a 90 Chevy extended cab short bed to 97 GMC K3500 SRW crew cab long bed to a 2000 Chevy single cab long bed and now back to a 2020 Ram 2500 crew cab short bed. I will never go back to a single cab again unless it's not my only truck...
