Jan update......Probably won't post another until end of the year as a recap but so far so good. My Jan estimate was 2510. Actual production was 2,528 kWh reducing my bill by $295 for the month at our 11.7 cent/kWh rate.

On 2nd look that is a beast of a machine. 21 more hp and about 1100lbs higher on operating load at 50%. Would really have to need those extra specs for that price difference. Would make a good forestry machine if running drum mulchers.

Geo uses a lower air volume as well and makes for a very quiet system. Usually never even know if ours is on or off. If you get a chance do a blower door test prior to sheetrock to help with air sealing.

Will have our first full month on the books here in a few days. Will post production vs estimates. This month and Jan will be our lowest production months. I'm seeing a daily production low of 16 kWh on a heavy full cloud day and 100kWh on a full sun day.

Just skim the surface with the loader bucket when finished. Final clean up with a landscape rake maybe if needed. I could take that entire row out with my track loader and stump bucket and one afternoon easily.

You can use the top side of your chain saw to skim the thorns off if using for firewood. Just don't accidentally catch them with the bottom side pulling toward you. They can shoot off like little missiles. Had one lodge just under a kneecap once. Swelling and joint pain for several days.

I have a brush cutter for my CTL but don't typically worry about thorns from osage orange. Usually not very long. Honey locust on the other hand is a different story. Here's what the thorns from honey locust here look like. Up to 14" long.

I hope your right. All of the surrounding ground was like a sponge prior to clearing. Will create a little more maintance mowing with the cutter once or twice a year but that's ok. I don't mind that type of work.

Agreed. A full size bucket is slow and not a good tool for stump removal.

How about this oak? Also taken out with a stump bucket. A large ctl and stump bucket can take out most trees in the 20 to 30" range in 5 to 10 min.

It has ruined more than one stove as it can get hot enough to warp the metal. Blue flame is common during a good burn and also creates a pretty good firework show as well when you open the doors and expose a hot fire to extra oxygen.

If not concerned about stumps then a chainsaw and trackloader with grapple would work. If anyone rents a tree sheer a trackloader with a rotating tree sheer would be even better for cutting and removing the upper branches. Can cut the upper branches and move all from the seat.
