You definitely do not need to till a raised bed ever. In fact most raised bed gardeners think tilling them, if you could, would be taboo. It screws up the natural biodiversity of the soil. If you do a raise bed garden right, it becomes almost like the floor of a forest.

A month or two ago I could go onto FB marketplace and count at least 4 or 5 good deals on tractors. Now I go out there and see maybe 1. The used market is still pretty good. I think spring has people buying tractors. I wonder if that will translate over to the new market as well?

There are some used deals out there. Here is one that is a lot of tractor for the money and low hours. You may have to drive a bit to get them but they are out there. They still aren't lasting too long if they are a good deal.

That sounds right on the hose length. I just measured mine and the hose alone is 38" not including the fitting. Overall it is 41" and it could easily be 6" - 8" shorter and still work fine. I would not go any shorter than what they suggested.
